Also on sale for the same price at The Warehouse. Which could be cheaper if you have a Warehouse Money card.

And another 5% off for price matching at warehouse stationery

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

That's a very good price but being a Seagate you'd need to get a couple of them. Personally, I'd spend the extra $30 and get one with a Hitachi drive.

Depends on what you are using it for, bulk adding and removing things will be faster on a faster drive, but once stuff is on there and you are just playing movies etc on them then a slower one can be better since it will use less power so may have more luck running on a USB port on a TV or bluray player.

7200 RPM will read/write faster than the usual 5400's in external drives - but you pay extra for that speed.

Personally, I'm using a 256GB SSD in an external USB3 case now for backups. Get good speeds off that :)

Also have a 1TB USB ext drive for day to day stuff.

Im seeing $179 at WS and $119 at Warehouse

$108 is tempting, even if it is a Seagate (had two Seagate portables die on me)

Feels stupid!

I looked at the date, several times and every time saw that the OP posted on the 13th and confirmed it was the 13th .. and then assumed that the deal was live when the OP posted but had since been taken down (rather quickly). I however did not actually check the month ..

Doh!
