These have been on sale a couple of times in New Zealand recently at $419. I would think they will probably end up at this price post Christmas.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

These are the best NC Headphones I've owned and I've owned half a dozen. NC isn't maybe 1-2% different to Bose, but sound quality and usability are in a different league.

I found my ears getting a little sweaty after an hour or so, but I am a nervous flyer so take that into account.

Sweaty ears is the consequence of cups sealing around the ears. I've woken up at times on long flights with incredibly sweaty ears (and Bose headphones) after going to sleep listening to music. It'll be interesting to compare my Sony's on a long flight.

Mine get sweaty on short flights too. It's a partial consequence of radiotherapy in my neck as well. The MX2's aren't any worse really, than the Bose.

I still don't think the Sony's quite match the QC35 for N/C. While I've worn the QC35 I haven't had a chance to test side by side but that will happen next week.

IMHO there are pros and cons to both, the biggest disadvantage of the Sony's being no sidetone so they're useless for calling via Bluetooth.
