This is a very good deal, decent discount on high end machine, 7th gen CPU but 8th gen not much better.

If only I could travel back in time 1 month grrrrrr.

Yep you're right -- 8th gen would be of benefit if you really need the extra performance .


For general purpose use I'd definitely go for the 7th gen with $1000 off. There is no better deal on the market at the moment.
