AFAIK only US Netflix is available but I don't tend to use it because I find it slow.

Yep, the US region is the only one available for Netflix but when I'm trying it now with the NZ dns servers netflix.com doesn't even resolve.

I'm not sure who has access to the unblocking forum, but here's the link to the thread on Getflix's decision to not provide those with lifetime subs with full access to US Netflix:

https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=178&topicid=233587

So it was only access to US Netflix (not all regions), and the limitation for those with lifetime subs was not being able to access US Netflix on anything other than Windows/MacOS browsers (so no access on Apple TV etc).

It was in April 18 they started offering this to 'regular' subscribers; this was the wording of the pop-up on their site:

American Netflix on every device. Make sure to create paid subscription on getflix.com.au website to access American Netflix on every device. Then change your Netflix region to the new one from your regions section.

When I queried why lifetime sub holders were excluded from non-browser access, this is what they said:

“Regarding the Netflix US issue, please be advised that Netflix US is only available for PC/Mac browsers if you are on lifetime subscrition due to Netflix's action on blocking DNS and VPN provider.

“Lifetime and trial users are assigned to a different data centers and that data center that only has access to PC/Mac web browsers

“We highly recommend to create a new account using a different email address and subscribe to normal subscription plan with Getflix to access Netflix US on other platforms like iOs, Android, smart TVs, consoles, etc.

“Alternatively, you can mirror/airplay/plugin Netflix US from your computer to your media players or Smart TV if it supports this feature.”

It's interesting to see the pop-up's not there anymore, and that you're reporting the US Netflix option is no longer working.

But, if that's the case, then why is their site and the latest 'lifetime' sub offer still mentioning access to Netflix?

This doesn't sound like what I would expect a "lifetime" subscription to be at all. It sounds like a different, crappier, service.

A lifetime subscription should be exactly the same as a regular paid service, with the exception that you pay up front and don't pay monthly.

Well, like with anything, you would read the terms and conditions.

The old adage applies, if it's seems to good to be true...

Yep, that's why I've raised it here, so those contemplating a so-called 'lifetime' sub are aware that Getflix has a history of being 'flexible' in regards to what that sub provides; as I mentioned earlier, the T&Cs for this new deal have an 'out' in them that they could easily use to pull the same thing:

I also note the deal states 'minor updates included', which would suggest my concern raised earlier (and what they did to others such as myself with 'lifetime' subs) is probably valid - ie, if they need to introduce a change that is anything but 'minor' to restore access to any services lifetime subscribers under this deal will not get access to it.

In my view you aren't helping yourself, or the company, in the long term by buying a life time sub. Companies need ongoing revenue to survive and the market is only so big.

I've seen companies do it if they need cash injection for a large capital expense etc, but you always pay the piper in the end.

Having solid ongoing revenues increases the likehood of a consistent experience with a product or service.

I can feedback and it works.

No idea how it works but it works.

Question: things seem to have a bit of a lag before loading, is that normal with getflix dns (not vpn)? Not sure if my imagination or not.

Update your IP address via Getflix webb site or their app (I have app to auto update ip address),

Netflix not working caught me out when first happened and I didn't know what it was, but it seams ISP changes ip address, but the previous ip address is still registered with Getflix, so update it (from same network) and Netflix should be fine, that's what I think it is anyway.

Good luck

Bargains and deals is not for discussing DNS services but as many people pointed out be wary with Getflix's "Lifetime Subscriptions" as they've stung many people in the past with this.

I'm going to lock this - there is a private forum if you'd like to discuss DNS services. Just PM me for access.
