I've done that but my phone says that I do not have permission from my carrier to add dun type APNs. If I try the same thing on an S9 I am able to add dun but 4G still doesn't work :(

dun doesn't work.

The only combinations that work are default, supl

Huh, weird. Kogan website says to do default, dun, supl, hipri, email

Only doing default, supl doesn't work either. Either there's something wrong with my sim, (the card packaging that the sim card came in was open) or Kogan needs to do something from the back end.

Putting in the codes to renew from last year was a trivial matter. I wish all telcos made stuff like this, this easy.

After purchasing this deal, I'm now trying to port my 2degrees number across to Kogan, but having difficulties. My request has failed.

When I view the ICCID number on my iPhone via my computer, I see a 19 digit number beginning with 8964. This is the number I entered for the transfer process, and it failed.

The number physically printed on my SIM card is an 18 digit number beginning with 8964. It's the same number, but with the last digit missing.

Can anyone confirm exactly which number I should be entering for the transfer please? How many digits should there be?

I was porting from Vodafone and got a text saying it failed. Next day at about 8:30am it was ported anyway. I had done live chat support with Kogan after I had got the failed text but they just told me to wait and try again on their website so I don't think they did anything with it.

I would suggest just waiting a few hours and then contacting support if the number hasn't ported and if the Kogan Mobile account website doesn't let you port the number again because "the number is currently being ported"

When porting a number, Kogan requires your old sim's ICCID (the numbers on your old physical sim card) which is in the next step of the activation process.

Also if anyone cares, I still don't have 4G on my sim card. Kogan are still looking into it but I should (hopefully) get a response from them in a couple of days.

Thanks. Yes, it looks like the same has happened to me.

I got an email yesterday saying my transfer has failed, plus it said in my Kogan account that it had failed, but this morning the transfer appears to have completed OK.

And now I'm trying to activate another SIM and transfer another phone number, and I just keep getting the message "Something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page". It all seems rather flaky! I guess I'll try again later!

That’s something I wasn’t aware of either and the instructions weren’t clear.
We ported my sons 2degrees number but put the Kogan sim into his phone before replying to the text he received about the number port that had to be replied to otherwise the port would fail.
I didn’t know they would send that text.
we’d already taken the sim out to get the number off it so didn’t put it back in. So it failed the first time. Had to go through the porting again and made sure to wait for the text and reply to it before putting the new sim into the phone.

Yes, that's one of the potential problems. In my case, I got the text and replied to it, so that wasn't the cause of the failure. Despite the failure messages, it eventually worked with no further action required by me.

I'm still trying to sort out the problem with activating my second SIM. Live chat was no help at all, and they just told me to email them about the problem. The website is telling me that the phone number on the SIM card is invalid. This is turning out to be a lot more hassle than I'd hoped!

I got a reply from Kogan about not being able to activate my SIM. The reply was:

"I looked into our portal using the information you gave me, and there's a potential the SIM could be faulty.
Consequently, you are getting an error."

That's it. No solution offered. No suggestions as to what I should do now.

I've now contacted them again and asked for a replacement SIM. If they can't replace it before the pre-pay voucher expires at the end of the month, I'll be pushing for a full refund.

Now I know why it's so cheap. Lesson learned!

Sucks you have had such a hassle. As a contrasting story, I brought 2x deals (4 sims) and transferred them no issues.

Seems that most of the time you are fine, but if you need support Kogan is hard work.

Absolutely correct! There's always a reason why something is this cheap. Poor support is usually one of those reasons, and there's always some risk involved with going the cheapest route. 99% of the time it will be OK, but it sucks when you're in the other 1%, like I am right now.

The Kogan support person has responded to my email request for a replacement SIM saying they are "unable to assist" with this problem, and suggested I try contacting a different part of the same company. At this point, I don't know whether I have the time and energy to pursue this, or if I'll just write it off as a bad purchase.
