According to the OP, the gift cards can be used on non-Xbox products such as 365 Subscriptions and Surface Pro devices (hence why I've labelled it Microsoft Gift Card). Gift cards can also be stacked.

$25, $40 or $70 denominations (up to 2500 every 24 hours)
3- or 12-month Xbox live membership.

Yep, can confirm that I've done this.. I had a 'free' $100 prezzy card from a 2degrees promo that I hadn't used yet, manage to turn that into $130 worth of gift cards.. Then paid a shade over $500 for $670 worth of gift cards to get up to $800 all up. Pretty happy with that!

It was slightly annoying entering multiple 25 digit voucher codes to redeem the money, but well worth it for the end result.
