If I had to guess I'd say they're a vISP off of Vetta(1).  Traceroute to their wesbite goes into Vetta (I realise where a site is hosted doesn't mean much, don't pile on) and the plans they offer are an exact mirror of Quic's(2).

  1. Not that there's anything wrong with this!
  2. Probably an exact mirror of a lot of other people's too, so this probably means nothing
  3. Bonus number - I'm a muppet.
  4. See below, I'm very wrong.

You're safe as not our network! 😁

I had a 360.net rep door knock me in Lower Hutt in either Jan or Feb this year trying to sell me standard fibre.  I did look into who they were, and their parent company Excel Sales Limited seems to be primarily in the business of door to door sales from what I could tell at the time...

Back then, their Facebook page genuinely only had about 20 likes and the website was pretty much impossible to find. It was also even less complete than it is now. The max speed offered then was only gigabit but I'm also fairly sure all the plans were advertised as 100% no contract back then so that has changed to a 12 month term now too - though has previously noted they haven't actually updated their T&Cs.

Its certainly good to see more competition in the ISP space, though it also shows they've had roughly 6 months to fix the website etc. Will be interesting to see what happens and how anyone who takes the plunge and signs up gets on.

Thing is, they can't keep up the pricing for the hyper, as the wholesale price will soon catch up with them.

I'm all for competition, but at least sit down and sort out your website etc before going live.

Pricing is advertised as a launch special. Regular price is $119.99.

$99.99 is cheap, and potentially a loss leader, but it is only $8.99/m less that what worldnet.co.nz is offering.

In the 2022 chorus wholesale price change, the price of hyperfiber was dropped while increasing the price of of slower plans. I am unsure when the next review is, but I am hopeful that will happen again.

Interesting to see they're still advertising that price yet my 900/400 has gone up......

But being 2D network, I'd be wary about using them. 2D/Vocus still seem to be having issues around the place for connectivity. But thats another thread...

In never did. Have come off my fixed term with 2 degrees now, still fairly tempted with the 2000/2000 plan.

But this would also require me to upgrade my infrastructure to multigig (it's due for an upgrade, I am still running Wifi5). Was eying up unifi gear, but the U7 series was poorly reviewed, and If I am going to spend that sort of coin I want the outcome to be seriously good.

I don't think you can infer the quality of bandwidth being sold by simply uncovering they are a 2D wholesale customer.

Who's going to take one for the team and find out?

Well the original links are dead (but the plan is still active).

They should fix up their website.

Switches and nics are really cheap for 2.5 on aliexpress now, for wifi do you really need those speeds to portable devices? Their 2 gig plan from the page seems to come with some form of hardware but its a trash site with little info on if you dont want the device if its cheaper or anything so I am waiting for others to see how it goes.

Im almost ready to jump from 950/500 to 2 gig, was going to go quic but this is tempting unless it totally sucks.
