Watching season 4 of 24 and noticed something about Jack whats his name leaving us ? August, think 6th.

I haven't checked to see if all seasons are gone yet, but less then a year to get through 9 or 10 seasons seems not like much, I would rather watch TV when I want to, not have to sit there for hours a week, so can get through it before it's removed, I haven't seen season 4 up, and was nearly at end of season 4.

There's been other programs removed before I've started watching them, haven't started on Breaking Bad yet, but as I haven't watched even season 1, to scared to incase it get's removed from light box before get to end!

Netflix doesn't seem to remove TV programs so aggressively, the only thing to date that I've been on a timer with them is movies, but then most movies are under two hours.

When my trial is up, I'll probably just use netflix only.

I also tried better call saul, as was mentioned in another thread it was 5.1 compatiable, through PS3 and sound only came out left and right speakers, where ps3 Netflix I get sound from all five speakers.

A huge swathe of content was recently removed from Netflix. This is routine across all providers as contracts for content expire, so Lightbox isn't alone on this front.

This is certainly a problem, as I also started watching 24 but see they are removing it soon. The website doesn't give much warning as it is really dumbed down. It should really have a countdown for each series so you now how long it has got. The website needs a huge amount of improvement, you should be able to see all the newly added series easily, perhaps ordering them by date added. Also when new episodes are added, so sort of alert to inform you. There is so much that could be done to improve the website user experience, which at the moment I would rate as poor.

I know stuff has to be removed, but every season of a 9 season program in one go seams a bit much, maybe drop a few older seasons every couple of months and work way up. That was about 8000 minutes gone in one flash

I doubt new programming has gone up by that much, amount of content is not going to grow with doing that.

From lemon TV Netflix titles 1551 Lightbox titles 339.

It is somewhat ironic that people are trying to watch it legally, but then have to break the terms to do so.

At least you get a warning from Lightbox.

Netflix doesn't tell you and you have to rely on third party websites to work out what is going and staying.

And yes, Netflix changes out content all the time. It's standard across all svod providers.

Here's what left Netflix in July. Bet they didn't give you the courtesy of an email to let you know about it.

'Titles' is a very poor measure of comparison

24 for example, counts as 1 title, despite being well over 100 hours of content.
Every movie in Netflix also counts as a single title - even though a movie is typically 2 hours.

So because Lightbox is TV only, and Netflix is mostly movies, Lightbox will always have fewer titles, even if they have the same or more hours of content

freitasm: Netflix is actually mostly TV with movies in.

When counting hours? Yes, almost certainly (for the reason I discuss above).

When counting 'titles' doubtful. There are thousands of absolutely trash movies on Netflix that pad out the catalogue

http://usa.netflixable.com/2015/08/release-date-list-fri-august-7-2015.html?m=1

Check this out, just scanning down the list you'll see its a vast majority of movies (and also note how much trash there is in there)

http://www.lemontv.co.nz/#action=stats

Check this out too:counting titles
Netflix USA ~7200
Netflix NZ. ~1500
Lightbox. ~340

But when counting titles that have a good rating (using imdb stats)

Netflix USA 100
Netflix NZ 76
Lightbox 61

Much smaller disparity, (and most of the top rated things on Netflix are moves,, not TV) which shows just how much trash there is on USA Netflix.

(Note, I don't think this is a bad thing. There are tons of ctrashy things I like, but I'm just pounding out that volume isn't a good indicator of quality of content)

I have unotelly so will continue with 24 there.

I don't mind how often movies are removed as they are not generally like getting half way through a book and having it taken off you.

24 probably a more popular title then the series Netflix has removed though.

Personally, IMBD ratings aren't that good as an indicator of quality either. wink

I feel it's best to not risk going down the road of legality if they're going to frustrate your efforts.

It's one of the reasons I won't _YET_ switch to a service like Netflix.

Removing content, and regional availability.. Once Netflix can offer me any program, forever, anywhere in the world, then they will have won the internet.

Information wants to be free. The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it.
