Journeyman:

What happened to the Boks tonight? Did they get lost on their way to the stadium? I never saw them! I only saw the All Blacks having a bit of a run around, passing the ball back and forth for 80 minutes.

Boks are not a very good team since the old guards retired. Who used to play physical and long range penalties and drop goals. Maybe they should go back to the old style lol.

Aussies however used to play with speed and trickery - but nowadays they have less speed and less skills than the ABs, so maybe they too need to play like the old England and the old Boks.

I don't see anyone touching the ABs for a good while, unless of course they steal the ABs .... now that would be fun!

Oh, and the streaker had to be a SA supporter, no AB supporter would do that 2 minutes into the second half and miss one of the most dominant performances in a while. Why pay good money then do that? Hopefully the bruises and subsequent ban will teach him the error of his ways.

Someone has to record the AMAZING result of the Wgtn/Canty game. 60-14 to the battlers from the 2nd Division!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good two rugby days for Wellingtonians.

We turned on some terrible weather, though. Hosing down now, too.

Yup, well done to Wellington for an outstanding result against what was to date a rampaging Canterbury side today. They looked really out of sorts. I can't recall such a performance in recent memory.

Wellington took their chances and applied incredibly pressure even under trying conditions and thoroughly deserved their win.

I expect a backlash from Canterbury in their next game.

The try with BB and NMS was nice to watch, but did anyone else feel that NMS wasn't expecting the ball behind the back from BB and it was just good hands?

I am quite concerned how vulnerable we look under the high ball. DM and NMS and others all missed taking high kicks. It used to be a strength of ours. Even ID seems to have missed a few recently.

Interesting to see the squad announced to go to Argentina. Nice to see Matt Todd included. I note 3 halfbacks and only 1 specialist 10. I am guessing they are thinking DM will cover. Might mean Havilli gets a test cap, which would be interesting.

A relatively inexperienced and untested group of combinations. Will be very interesting to see how they all cope.

And that ladies and gentlemen is what happens when the ABs play close to their potential for 80 minutes.

I reckon they probably have another 10-15% if they played the "perfect" game.

Of course he wasn't expecting it - it was a spur of the moment play when Beaudy saw all the opposition defence targeting him and leaving Milner-Skudder in the clear.  At this level you should always be awake to the possibility of a surprise past.  These players are coached to play to their instincts.  It was good hands to take it but any player in that position should be aware of a possible pass.

Could have gone quite badly. It was amazing that it went off, but I wonder how we would have felt if it didn't. I do think a slightly more traditional pass would have resulted in a try and had less risk.

Being a little picky I know.

Compare that to the other tricky pass between I think BB and DM which was obviously a practised and known set move.

Would be exciting to see Havili - pretty cool when someone who grew up in the same (small) town as you gets in the ABs!

He's had a massive season for the Crusaders, and made a huge impact when he was back for the Makos v Wellington game. Not a lot of people know, but he is actually a really handy long distance place kicker too. He's kicked a fair few 50 - 60m penalties for the Makos and Crusaders over the years.

Would be mean to see him playing for the ABs.

I agree. I recall seeing him play for a team last year, can't recall who, and he punted over a 60 kick from the sideline in the wind.

Haha, yeah might have been that one. I was reasonably sure it was a Canterbury or similar region game, but honestly, I am a little unsure.

I'd love to have Nadolo back in the current Crusaders. Can you imagine what they would have been like with him onboard this year?!! (He, also is an excellent goal kicker). He played 10 for Fiji. I recall watching him practice a couple of years back, and for fun he was kicking them over at pretty close to the 70+M mark.
