This is quite a good summary. No, its not pro Folau, but it seems balanced.

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/massive-win-for-under-siege-castle-but-tough-questions-remain-20190518-p51op6.html

Key points are:

At the absolute core of this argument were two things.

First, that Folau knew of the consequences of his actions, despite the odd claim by Nick Farr-Jones that he was never given clear boundaries as to what he could and couldn't post. The tribunal clearly found in favour of Rugby Australia here, particularly Castle's submission that she had "multiple" conversations with Folau or his manager and that he had acknowledged the hurt caused by last year's post.

Second, that Rugby Australia wasn't denying Folau freedom of religion.

The killer line from Castle on Friday was: "We have many players that quote the Bible on their social media platforms, as Mr Folau did for the first nine months of his new contract."

I hope he appeals, as while some feel he is hard done by, and while the 3 person panel are exceptionally qualified, maybe this case needs to go fully through the legal system so that its fully put to bed, rather than simmering away with "what if he did appeal?"

Wow, I guess its now time for the journo's to rack up some clickbait income

https://au.yahoo.com/sports/enough-bombshell-new-claims-israel-folaus-real-motives-213650631.html

Bombshell new claim completely changes Israel Folau saga

Like the majority of onlookers, I'm no fan of Israel Folau's behaviours, but it's over, there is no need for this IMHO.

Its not a new claim. its a journo's opinion piece. It doesn't change the saga, unfortunate the saga, that has left no winners is all but over. Its not really the time to lay the boots in.

Whatever happens from here, appeal, Supreme Court, journo's need to stick to reporting events, not massaging storylines, Its not a TV series.

I agree. It's a sad commentary when news outlets are resorting to this type of story.

Why even post it here and spread it's nonsense even further? Ignoring it is the best way to starve them of the attention they want.

Geez.

Its part of the issue. Posting here doesn't spread it anywhere, it merely adds balance.

This is quite a good summary. No, its not pro Folau, but it seems balanced.

It's not balanced. Much of the article relies on unreliable assertions about legal issues. Here's a couple of reasons why the writer does not understand the issues:

1. If he was recorded in a church building then the primary issue would not be that it is a private place. It is invading Folau's privacy which is a separate issue and this can even occur in a public place. A public place - think of the issues in public toiles - does not give an automatic right to intrude on anyone's privacy.

Under common law Church buildings that are open to the general public or a significant group of the general public are considered to be public places.

2. Freedom of religion is not limited to private places. The public practice of freedom of religion in public. Check it out in all sorts of places:

https://www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/

Article 18.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

No idea where you are going with this. There is NO issue as regards his beliefs. I dunno how often that has been said by so many people including RA. RA also say they have no issue with quoting verses from the Bible, as their players have done, as well as Folau in the period of about 9 month after the signing of the 4 year contract last year. No issue. You are commenting on issues that no one has an issue with.

This is an employment issue, his employers have an issue with a player representing Rugby Australia and affiliates and sponsors, that gays should go to hell. He has breached his Employment Contract.

I'm not sure how much there is left to say, but I could ask @freitasm if he could move relevant posts to a new topic?

SBW gets a ringing endorsement from Steve Hansen

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/rugby-world-cup/rwc-2019-japan/112859628/all-blacks-coach-steve-hansen-sonny-bill-williams-has-only-his-fitness-to-prove

Fair enough as well in my opinion.

Good to see the others in our important list is coming back soon.

On another note, ALB is the Chiefs best player this season, and it's not even a close contest.  It will make someone the unluckiest midfielder around I think depending on how many spots they decide they can live with.

Yes, I totally agree. Anton Lienert-Brown has been consistently impressive against several very good opposing backs. Many times he seems to be the only solid player in the whole team. The commentators often remark that the players he is marking aren't getting to shine.

This season I've no Sky Sport so its worked out that I've got to see more of the Chiefs games. I'd like to say that it has been a pleasure to watch ALB play but it hasn't. He's been a bit of a "kill-joy"for me because he thwarts so many attacks by teams that I'm more interested in watching.

The problem for ALB is that he isn't likely to usurp Crotty who is more senior and when playing at his best is hard to exclude. Crotty is/was for me, a more natural 13 and really, for me a Conrad Smith replacement. SBW if fit is going, it's pretty clear and I have no issue with that. That leaves him vs Goodhue and I don't think he can win that battle, as Goodhue has better attacking nous. If anyone is injured or not fit (and I am thinking primarily of SBW) then ALB would be a great replacement.

Every season there are players who are playing out of their skin that miss out, it's a tough business and I'd hate to be a coach.

I am worried about the health and as a result, match fitness of our props. We seem to be struggling a bit in the scrum department on top of that.

I’ll be interested to see the outcome of the complaints coming out of South Africa from the Crusaders visit.

My first reaction is, “ Gee, the SAs are starting ‘poisoning’ of the ABs much earlier than some previous World Cups” :P

Mo'unga has apologised for spitting over a group of women. That's pretty poor behaviour in my view. He's probably due a good talking to and possibly a couple of weeks on the sidelines perhaps.

Crusaders are pretty confident there isn't anything going on with the other complaint. I guess we will wait and see.
