I think with two locks well less than 2.0 m, Finau's height as a genuine lineout option probably made the difference with getting the No 6 slot.  Maybe also because Blackadder is very underdone after all his injury problems.  That fact he didn't make the bench indicates the match fitness factor was possibly decisive.

Not 100% happy with Perofeta at fullback.  We seem to have this addiction to hybrid 10/15 players.  Although I guess he's a placeholder for Jordan when he's fit.  Also, not a huge fan or Perenara, but he's definitely earned it.  I'd maybe have gone for Christie.  But again, maybe they're placeholders for Roigard.

Other than that, really excited to be underway with the Razor era.  It's a pretty tough way to start the season though and a very tough season overall.  Playing Boks, Ireland, France and England all away will be a serious challenge.

Nah - we've all been told for years by Crusaders fans that the All Blacks would be unbeatable with Razor running the show so I'm going into this era completely relaxed.

Give it a rest. You didn't like Foster, don't want Robertson. Who exactly would you have given head coach job to? Or are you just being a miserable so and so for the sake of it.

All we Crusaders fans have heard for years is that Robertson would play favourites with the Crusaders and there are 4 this week.

I’m confused. Aren’t we meant to win 150-0 under Robertson. Is it Akira Ioanes fault?

As an England fan pleasantly surprised it was a contest, and perhaps we arguably should have even won with a couple of relatively straightforward kicks missed. You can't be missing kicks from pretty much in front in a covered stadium with no wind. Good contest and hopefully we can be competitive again next week.

Don't be daft. He didn't even play. It's obviously Reiko's. 🤣

A win's a win. Enjoy it NZ.

Stop complaining. Gosh we are good at that too.

It was an entertaining arm wrestle. I bet there will be plenty of sore bodies today! Perenara’s come back might only be one game long, which is a shame because his contribution was substantial.

I’m also glad MacKenzie timing out on that penalty didn’t affect the result. When the ref called “10 Seconds”, I watched the game clock and the he was spot on. Bet MacKenzie speeds up a little from now on. He certainly will if Razor’s reaction in the coaching box was anything to go by!

It must be Dave Rennie and Owen Farrels fault

A good even game and I liked the absence of any yellow cards.

A lesson for McKenzie! He's been pushing it for ever.

Bit disappointing that we could only beat England by one point, but regardless it was a win. England is very far off from the top of their game.

Slightly off-topic, but those new All Black jerseys! What were they thinking, we look like a bunch of priests playing rugby!!!

Just Reiko's.

What was quite the improvement with a new England Captain, was being positive about their opposition in post match interviews.

I imagine a few players wil be getting the hurry up by the coaches. How many times was Christie told to use the ball before the ref blew the whistle? Was he waiting for an engraved invitation?

Overall, I think we were actually pretty decent. Lots of frustrating moments, you could tell Razer was really feeling the pressure and nerves, but considering the little game time we have had to prepare against an England side who have been together all season, and it being our first game of the season, with some players who hadn't played in a while, it went fairly well.

I expect that the English may be 10% better next week, but I'd imagine we could be 20% better or even more.

Go and watch the replay again. Savea was meant to pickup off the back and he didn't then de Groot went around the outside and stood up again.

De Groot was out of control in the scrum most of the match. The scrum was fairly poorly officiated, he should have been penalized 3-4 times for going around the ouside and standing up instead of pushing through. Both setpieces were really ragged all match, New Zealand had the dominant scrum and lacked the control to exploit it and the lineout was poor.

I really was expecting more, it wasn't a very convincing platform.

Maybe a few more Blues would have made the difference.
