wow - CBS's 360eye camera is amazing to see the same replay from any angle.
I noticed that TVOne is taking the NFLNetwork feed vs ESPN taking CBS. Assuming same camera feed, different commentary?

Quite a few people like the superbowl, including me. It is huge .
It's just not huge in New Zealand or most places outside of the US.
No one I know of (workmates, friends, or family) watches it or even has the slightest interest in it.
I think it's sad when there is very little or no coverage of some sports that have a much higher participation rates than American Football in New Zealand, some of which we have world champions in.
I have no problem with Superbowl having coverage in New Zealand I just think the amount of coverage is out of proportion to other sports. Today there's 7 articles related to the Superbowl on the Heralds Home page. We don't even get that sort of coverage for Rugby.
The UEFA Super Cup is bigger than Superbowl but doesn't get the same coverage.
As has been already mention I think it is lazy reporting and a product of reprinting what comes off the various news feeds without any thought as to the relevance. Just like other news items that are headlines that have no relevance to New Zealanders.
Lets face it who really wants to read the likes of this http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=11586005

You seem to have invested a lot of effort complaining about something you don't care about.
I am watching it now. First time I have ever watched gridiron. Must say its pretty boring. They stop every 5 seconds. A 15 minute quarter takes like 3/4 of an hour.
The half time show was a bit of a let down and drab.

It's a lot of fun at a pub, with mates... drinking American beer (not Bud) and eating hot dogs.
Aside from that, there's a bit of commitment required to sit through the entire game - a bit like baseball.

You're right I don't care about Superbowl.
You've missed the point though. What I do care about is being bombarded with coverage that is out of proportion to its relevance in New Zealand. Superbowl isn't the only example but I thinks it's about the worst (best) example.
Anyone who cares about Superbowl or any other event can generally find coverage with out being bombarded like happens now.

You mean if a rugby player (or his family) pass away - and you get pages and pages of coverage. And half the nighttime news devoted to it?
Ridiculously out of proportion? And yet we stomach it. Without moaning to all and sundry.

I agree some of that coverage can be over the top.
However we don't get a barrage of inane irrelevant headlines all in one day like these,

Yay 13 minutes left on the clock, that means only 1 hour left to go.

- Everything you need to know about XXXX YYYYY
- XXXX YYYY's cats in mourning after death
- 5 Catastrophes XXXX YYYYY was involved in
- All the ads you need to see involving XXXX YYYYY
- XXXX YYYY near tears
- How much XXXX YYYYY spent on game tickets
- The insane money XXXX YYYY earned playing football
No, instead we get whole sections devoted to rugby. Not sport but just rugby. Yawn.
Still thats the price of free online news - some "editor" decides the headlines that people might like to read, for the next 60 minutes. Pick up a real paper and the column inches devoted from Superbowl are much less. Oh, wait. You have to pay for that.
Oh my god that was the most boring game that I have ever watched. Certainly not my cup of tea.

Manning gets his 2nd ring. Great stuff! A great event as usual, a very defense heavy game.

Like they say Defense wins championships.
Well I enjoyed the game. Go the Broncos !!!
Thanks TVNZ for showing it on tv1 in hd & showing previous games on the pop up channel.
