if we cant beat the storm with no slater in our backyard with the team we have on paper what are we doing....

put the players back in their correct positions. put all but ayshford from the sharks in reserve grade. is fusitua fit? if so is a non brainer pick.

i think a quality coach demands results makes a big difference. keep in mind cappy was ASSISTANT coach.

i want a GF winning coach not a player who can run the ball back like manu, hurrell, kata already do, an old half/utility, a released winger and another release centre/lock.

imagine the warriors if we had kept our nyc FB and spent the money on a coach. we have never had a top of the line coach who demands professionality and is backed up by his captain and support staff.

agggh 2 games in and ive got worriers fever :-)

Another not good enough effort yesterday. 11 in a row now. What is fusitua and hurrell doing in reserve grade?

I would have expected coach to have to stood down by now. Lets hope toovey is still available, he wont accept any excuses.

It's been made pretty clear by Watson he won't sack coach this season. That may change toward the end.

I didn't watch the game but the highlights showed they were in it till the last semi intercept.

Even the AB's get put under pressure by good teams. It wasn't a drubbing by any stretch.

In 2011 the Warriors lost their first 3 games and went on the Grand Final.  There's still hope.

There is, but I really feel for Warriors fans who go from season to season living off such hope. it was 5 years ago and there are no members of that squad still in this side if I am not mistaken, and regardless certainly not in similar form.

I'd personally set my expectations quite a bit lower, because if they are so erratic, until the root cause is identified and resolved, expect more turbulence.

Middle of the pack would be a more realistic expectation.

In 2015 (AKA Last year) to the Cowboys lost their first three and won the comp.

TeaLeaf thinks he has all the answers, but he doesn't really. (Am I allowed to say that?)

Mannering, Vatuvei, Johnson, Matulino and Lillyman IIRC. Might be more.

I stand corrected on that statement, however the form and lack of on field consistency comment remains correct, therefore expectations predictions should also stand.

you dont need to be a genius to have some answers, but dont go personally attacking people with your assumptions.

This is how the team should look with players back in the positions they grew up with (aisde from RTS).

1. RTS

2. Fusitua

3. Hurrell

4. Kata

5. Vatuvei

6. Lolohea

7. Johnson

8. Lillyman

9. Luke

10. Matulino

11. Thompson

12. Hoffman

13. Mannering

(Interchage: Roache, Ayshford, Vete, Gubb, Gavet, Palavi and 2 other players from 2nd grade)

Send Wright and Robson back to 2nd grade and release them end of year.

Compare that to the current line up which is starving our best players of getting their hands on the ball and 2 of our best players are in reserve grade, our BALL players. Shuffling the whole team around for a player the sharks didnt want at 7 is crazy. The above is what 99% of us expected when we signed Luke and RTS, to combine with 2 brilliant halves. The spine.

We currently are showing very little second phase play, we are not playing set moves, we are not running off angles from our play makers. We look like we are being coached by an Assistant coach, oh wait we are.

I thought Watson would be smarter than that letting another potentially great coach slip bye.

So Finch I might not have all the answers but I at least have some obvious fixes.

Konrad forcing Crappy to pick him, on the bench with Ayshford starting, too funny. Well if no coach is being dumped this year, we will be losing some key players next year, this year was our 1 in 100 year team. But stubbornness seems to be a priority over common sense.

Fusitua isnt injured, why on earth is he not playing with Lolohea at 6 and Robson in Reserve grade Reserves?

Great we are going to lose ANOTHER ultra talented player. How did Manu ever get through this club (aside from being awesome). Its like they want to let go of all the local talent and bring in old used players for "experience" who dont have any GAS left. Im all for good strong aggressive 27-30yo aussie forwards but we arent buying that.

So Fish has left for Union, one of the most talented Rugby League players in NZ history rarely got selected at club level. What a sham. How long until Fusitua joins him, and Konrad? I say good on them if they moneys good. There is no loyalty for talent so why should they stick around.

Really looking to see how Tevaga goes for Luke this weekend. hes a strong runner, good choice there.

I haven't watched any NSW Cup games, but Konrad has been playing good supposedly. So yes, McFadden has been "Forced" to pick him. Personally I think he should be in the team over Ayshford, however Hurrell doesnt have problems with his Defense.

Its a totally different environment, but did you watch Lolohea in the halves for the Kiwis last year? I do agree he should be in the halves, but Robson is there for his leadership qualities. Robson wont be in the team for much longer, like I said a week or so ago, there is a player who you haven't even spoken about yet, who I think will help the team.

Fish rarely got selected, because he was injured 50% of the time. When he played, he wasn't that great either, overrated IMO, but the injuries probably didn't help either.

that was just the group id be circulating for the bench.

Im interested to see how well Wells goes at half in the ISP game. Could put pressure on Robson from beneath if not from within, oh cappy the position you have got yourself in trying to be smart when really you are just a hit it up and kick the ball kinda player.

Yeah I know what you mean about Lolohea in the kiwis, but to be fair that is his native position and the warriors played him in 5 positions in the season, im suprised cappy didnt have him play prop.

He needs experience at 6 at first grade level, just like johnson did. I put them on fairly equal talent levels at running halves just with SJ having great vision to set players up, he just needs to lead the team forward a bit more but he was getting there so why put a has been in his position and leave him starving for the ball, ruin the career of our second best half and totally ruin the career of the guy who should be playing in his poisition at wing.

There really isnt an answer for it beyond stomach churning. Wont be buying myself a new pair of warriors shorts this year thats for sure ;-p. haha

yes i know cappy doesnt want them to lose. but if his plan fails we have wasted our once in a century team on his science experiment.

i truely hope robson does improve. but we could have been tearing teams apart by now with more bodies in motion, second phase play and johnson and lolohea creating havoc in the halves.

im only outspoken about it because i care.

there is no way we will lose to newc, well if we do surely watson will revise his no coach sacking comments, at the very least people will be put into positions that make sense.

really good to see we have such a good backup to luke in the 9. not sure if he has a kicking game though?

its almost like that cappy had this science experiment in mind, put it into place pre season but did no training around it. im not seeing any set players or like i said bodies in motion or second phase from matulino etc. robson makes mullen look like an immortal.
