What better way to commence proceedings than this URL

I like the commenteary crew on BBC, except the one on the wee office doing tweets. Hope Murray W is on this lineup

Looking forward to the 2016 season, should be a good one.

Hopefully the likes of the Scuderia Ferrari and Red Bull (and maybe McLaren) can challenge the recent dominance of the Mercedes cars, if the testing is anything to go by, Ferrari might.

We'll know soon enough.

The only thing I'm not sure on is the new elimination style qualifying. Does anyone know, once a car is eliminated from the session, does the eliminated car have to vacate the track, or can they stay out there, effectively testing?

I watched all the test days, good fun. Mainly commentary though but thats worth a lot of fun, hearing whats going on. It does seem that Mercs are still clearly the fastest, not pushing it, but off course no one knows until Q3 in Melboune.

Haas looked more than ok, but then having issues

McLaren might be midfield, hope so. Midfield could in itself give some great racing

I doubt very much they can stay out. Be in next lap after being removed, clear the track etc. I think its a dumb rule. Mercs will get stuck on a slow lap with a trye going down, out. Merc will go off track pushing it, lose 5 seconds, out. Thats what they want, a mixup off the grid. Must be a better way

I'm a Mercedes fan but do really hope that there is a little more competition this year. It does get a little boring when your team wins all the time!

Hope to see some improvement from McLaren this year - which to be fair shouldn't be too hard. Sounds like they've found some speed (which is always a good start in a race lol).

LOL

If they can get the mechanical and aero grip really sorted that will help a huge amount. RBR were always a dog with hp and top end speed but they won 4 championships in a row like that, a great chassis. And were the only other one to win and won 3 times in Mercedes first dominant year. Funny that with all the talk and hype and opinion, it will only take the 10 minute Q3 to see whats what

Totally - if only tracks didn't have corners!

Glad they've ditched the qually changes - that was snore inducing. Having said that, the race was little better.

I think the qually changes would have worked with some tweaks: Q1\Q2 allow ~10mins before first car is knocked out (enough time for ppl in dangerzone to come in, change tyres, do outlap and 2nd timed lap before being knocked out) then 1 car per 60 seconds rather than 90 seconds. Q3 should not have knockout and should be old format.  It was confusing that the last car to be knocked out (at the chequred flag) from Q1\Q2 only had to have started their lap when the clock hit 0, but all preceding cars had to have completed their lap.  I'm not sad they are going back to the old method though.

3 types of tyre compounds is a good thing.

I can't believe Ferrari gambled on an alternate tyre when knowing that it is so difficult to overtake if they stuck on mediums they would have came first. Oh well, Mercedes here we go again.

Yeah that was a bad decision.  They said it was because they didnt have any tyre data for the mediums so didnt know how long they would last, but they didnt even put softs on they went to supersoft so weren't trying to stretch out that stint.

They are not racing Haas, but Rosberg (at that time; LH was like 6 or 7)

It's probably (at that time): Do as Rosberg, risk coming second. Whatever Rosberg does, do the opposite, give Vettel a chance to win. And then get criticized.

If Ferrari went medium, they race Mercedes one on one, and will lose as Merc are faster. They hoped a pitstop, two fast superset stints and Merc medium might not last. Easy to say now though.
