Lets all back guppy tonight, 100 off 40 balls :-) 1030 NZT folks.

@TeaLeaf bet you didnt pick guppy being rested for Henry Nicholls

geee didnt that work out well. 7 off 10000 balls and clean bowled. if you going to rest someone with a nuffie use someone that makes sense like taylor.

ore 50

?  Batsmen do not always score 50. Every batsman that ever existed has a number of scores in the 0 to 10 range. Especially guppy.

There are some chronic under performers in the team and I'm looking at Ross Taylor. He couldn't get his bat anywhere near the ball against BAN.

joker97: Ah of course. So the prediction is Aussie to go out? Not so easy. But how I'd love to see those arrogant (insert unprintable word/s here) eat humble pie.

If they do, they won't. There will be excu... i mean reasons. It wont be, "the other side was better on the night"

Apparently rested as a precaution because of a 'tight hamstring'.

OZ out. India win.same score 161/4, India win with 5 balls left, after Kohli got 82 off off 57

OZ had 3 getting over 20, India had almost 3 getting over 20, but one player made the difference. A fickle games this T 20 is

As our bowing is awesome in India conditions, you'd have to bet that we can stop one runaway batsman. Even if we ourselves don't produce a runaway batsman, I'd hope that we would have 3 that get a super quick fire 30 each, to match one runaway batsman, which is seemingly the game winner.

Yes is priceless watching the aussies sook ok aus forums. Its not real cricket they are saying. Well guess what, NZ plays a lot less test cricket and are #2 at ODIs and T20 (will be #1 if win tourn). Thats the future or cricket that an aussie created and they all loved at first. Except wait. Its not blocking, and tickling it down leg for 2 runs for 5 days so they cant play it without big hitters.

I think NZ are short 1 big hitter. Ronchi is a dud, hes been out of form for way too long now. Why was he picked, even Watling would have been a better selection. A waste of  aposition you cant afford in T20. If Mitch Santner fails again in a big game I will be saying I told you so, even though I should now. He either has to take wickets or score runs or he is a waste of space that Williamson can bowl and a batting position taken up. Add two big hitters to the squad and the line up looks convincing. Right now there is no way NZ could beat Eng or get close to 180. Change is needed and yesterday.

I hope Im wrong about santner but hes not going to be the big hitter we need and ronchis form, sigh.

If NZ do not score 180+ from now on they are gone. Forget our bowlers. Mcleneghan and Ish Sodhi arent going to do it all for us against England or whomever.

This India scenario is what Indian cricket is about, spinners. If you remove Santner, well he has done more thamn Sodhi from memory, soemone stated in this thread.

I hear you, buit you seem to have a need for every player to be a big hitter. Replace Sodhi for B McCullum, just have batters?

180+ok lets see what happens

Kevin Pietersen, exiled ENG former captain says ENG will win as:

1. They bat a long way down.

2 Delhi is a batting pitch if grass on it

3. Small boundaries

NZ can win if

1 The pitch is bare

2 Rates Santner, Sodhi, N McCullum, in that order

3 We have a very good batting lineup

TAB had us at 1-85 to ENG 1-95 this morning, now its 1-75 to 2-00  Guppy been cleared??

Sodhi is our only full time spinner. If Santner is ahead by 1 wicket or 2 I dont see that as a reason to place him in some glory light. Sodhi took 3 wickets along with Mclenaghan, not only that but Santner scored next to nothing against Bangladesh. I know hes got everyone loving him after 2 good performances this summer, but hes not the man you keep ahead of Sodhi for spin. As for batting, take a batsman. We dont need Santner we have Williamson who is just as good a spinner as Santner. Replace Ronchi with another batsman keeper and all will look a lot stronger. We still have our wicket takers, our all rounder and we have bolstered the scoring immensely.

Lol at dumping Sodhi, you do know he is our only actual spinner the rest are part timers? Santner has 1 more wicket. Yippee he got lucky this tournament.

Hes there to score runs. He must score 30+ at 150rpo or hes a dud and I just dont think going off his summer you can suggest that about Santner. Give him 2-3 years maybe if hes still around.

Are you related to Satner? lol.

We need more runs period. We have plenty of bowling without Santner. If NZ keep Santner for the sake of he may just get lucky and take 3 wickets. If we only score 120 his 3 wickets are pointless. We HAVE to score above 180, period.

Ish Sodhi is averaging just 4.75, un heard of in t20, conversely Santner is leaking runs at 5.73 (jokes), so for every wicket he makes hes costing us big time. His batting is mediocre at best. And you want to keep him because he has 1 more wicket this tourn?

Come one, brain click into gear now. :-)

Id be happier keeping Santner and replacing Ronchi. SOS anyone

Who is the batsman in world cricket who is batting at number 8 and does this? In this tournament Santer is playing as a specialist bowler and batting at number 8

Have you watched any of the games? We played on one decent deck and scored 180, we played on 3 low slow square turning dung heaps. What side in world cricket would have scored 180 on those surfaces?

Why would you drop either of them? They are both playing as bowlers and have taken the 4th and 6th most wickets at the tournament, averaging under 10. I can't tell if you are trolling or just don't actually look at the evidence.

Well said, saved me some ink!  Santner as you say is a specialist bowler. "leaking" at 5.73 RR is great, T20 is a 9+ RR game at the magic score of 180+ TL keeps reminding us.

Santner has got one more wicket. Sodhi should, being the non part time specialist spinner have had 3 or 4 more than a part timer

LOL's, brain click comments, are we related? Thats bordering on childish, TL. How about discussing rather than using that style?

If you read my post, and understood it, you would see Im making a point that you seem to only want runs. Or ideally spinners who are top batsmen as well. If you study the card graphics, you all see some batsmen, some bowlers, and the odd bowler who can bat.
