I think it was Sky Sports, OMG brain fog moment, I think its because once Aus were 30 off and the rain came down again I just went to sleep. If Seifet hadnt missed Sodhis gimme stumping, if Kane hadnt mis judged the catch, who knows, maybe we could have defended it, we did pretty well and those are all coulda woulda shoulda. The fact is like you said our batting passed our openers is suspect and whilst Taylor did well to nurse it to the total, it just isnt good enough. Our middle order is just so suspect. I think we might do better in the ODIs as its less pressure, but Eng can easily put 350 on us and unless one of our openers goes on and the middle doesnt collapse, we got no chance.

Captain Kane is under a lot of pressure.

I think the tests is where we might have a chance, especially if we give Sodhi a go with Red ball and its day 4.

But in the ODIs if Santner can peg one end down and put pressure on to score while Boult bowls his yorkers, thats the way to win it.

Middle order being Chapman, Seifert, DeG, Williamson, Taylor?

Its dodgy

Chapman  I like him. Not afraid. He contributes. Dont care if he gets out for 4, he will be a permanent player before long

Seifert    Supposed to be a good hitter, but too scared to play. When you are to scared to go out, you go out.

DeG       Unreliable, do not expect anything. 4 or 44 in quick time.

Williamson  Should hang around a while, but when off form, he chokes.

Taylor    Mr Reliable, but he cant keep paying everyone's bill every game

Santner he can hit, he needs help on his technique

Sodhi  He can hit too, but mainly doesnt, but he is a batting asset in waiting as Santner is.

Southee. Please pick your shots! Almost a Bowl/Bat title

Boult  Best tail ender in years

How did NZ lose that Eng T20. 8 an over needed off the last 4 overs 8 wickets in hand. pffft

NZ bowling today, I think thats a good thing. In saying that Eng can play spin, we have two, as do they.

Engs got a lot more power in their batting and bat a lot deeper.

Its the NZ team I picked except the line up DGH back down order, and Latham ahead of Nichols, gosh I hope we dont get bogged down.

Woakes back in their team at 8, not fair.

And BEN STOKES is back, pfffft.

NZ 4:1 IMO

We really need an all rounder like Woakes. To be fair hes prob the best of this generation. But Santner needs to bat with intent.

Wow Roy, Ive never seen him defensive to 6 balls. Then that last one Southee got to swing he had a little go at. Boult is moving it.

Against Aus Eng would be 40 after 2 overs lol after their 4:1 Series WIN. They should have played their ODI team in the t20, its by far their best team.

If Eng dont lose the top 4 quick, Id say 330 is very possible, anything under 300 they wont be happy, 280 will be competitive.

Edit: Thats what happens when you drop your best ODI player for a t20 comp. He gets out of touch. Well done Boult just bowling that ball across him, 5th times a charm.

Looks too easy. I’m
Not watching this innings
Santner saves the day, Sodhi gets hammered and drops a catch

Santner finally makes a key break through, well done !!! Roy looked like he was about to take off and he can hit anything for 6. was almost a yorker on the toes.

edit: on review Roy just played all round it, no way that should have got through.

if Eng dont lose another wicket they will take 5-6rpo until 30, and then with such a deep batting line put the foot down.

They are only 7 short of a 6 RR

We can’t do that, we will lose wickets trying to. Eng can play safe, milk singles take a boundary every 1.5 overs. Now we are back to Boult this early so we have already cracked

5rpo, thats pretty good, same as Santners. And that catch was anything but easy. it would be dropped 9/10 by any bowler. Boult just dropped a lot easier one. Sodhi had Santner drop a sitter off him and seifert drop a gimme stumping miss in the t20s so I dont think Ish is doing anything wrong, if anything the team around him.

Is Santner actually a spinner? or is he a Slow pace off cutter? Given all he delivers is the same delivery in the same spot (look at his pitch map) and it always spins the same way or he cant turn it at all. He there to slow runs but more so for his batting, thats the problem with Santner, his batting is letting us down when we need him.

I think Eng looked better in AUS with Hales coming in at 3. What a player to drop, would be a shoe in, in our team. Was part of why they were hitting 10rpo on average for the first 10 in most matches. Still a long batting line up.

Butler going into overdrive. Time for yorkers. He will take any of our bowlers apart on GOOD lengths. It has to be a yorker to him.

Santner drops ANOTHER. The commentary love getting stuck into how many catches he drops but that was to good for him and would have been a guptil or smith from aus type catch.

If we can keep them to 270-280 thats a chance like I said at the start. Slow wicket that should speed up in the cold.

Although if Butler and Woakes last 10 overs 300 is easily on.

bahaha, IF he scores 50 from 30 and does his job.

He hasnt taken a wicket, hes had batsman get out of his bowling, big difference, Sodhi planned the wrongin and the batsman read it as the leg spin and it went exactly to the player. the last wicket Santner got was actually there to be hit, it was a bad ball length, but the batsman top edged it.

Thats the difference, Sodhi is a wicket taker, Santner may take wickets but only if the batsmen mis hit him, he bowls the same line and a very good length 95/100, hence his RPO.

Sodhi was bowling no different until that Butler over which it wouldnt have mattered who was bowling as none were rank pies.

Styris just said it, Williamson wont want Santner bowling to Butler either.

Who is saving the Day is Colin Munro. I didnt know he started as a bowler, batting 11, look at him now. So why is he not our all rounder and get phillips back in after his winning score for Auckland winning the trophy yesterday.
