I got my prediction right about Ferguson coming in to replace Sodhi. Got my finger on the palse ;-p

243 highest score? I think that better get beaten by NZ today.

Surprisingly a very high scoring T20 ground.

Wow NZ were $2.40 for the series win dropped to $1.60, I missed the Eng money but thats very short sited from the NZ public.

This is my worst fear come true, NZ batting first and getting bogged down in the middle order, scoring 250-260. We really need to be aiming 330 and if we get to 280 we have a chance again. No massive risks, just boundary and over and singles or 2s to follow, clearly choose the right ball and not every over that will work, but thats how you get 6RPO consistently.

MUNRO, come on you cant just go at ANY old ball. Eng do the same but they CHOOSE the balls to smash.

I agree with Nas, re Guptill should be in the test team, so he struggles to open in Tests and generally when the ball is new. Latham has shown opening ODIs isnt for him.

I think Guptill still wants to play red ball, I think he would make a fantastic #6 giving us some depth and some depth further down the line.

30 isnt good enough for Tests, but its ok for Latham to be very average at ODIs? No its not good enough for top 4 players to avg 30, but clearly he has issues with that state of play. And then you look at someone like Stephen Fleming who averaged around 30 for most of his career. If Guptill wants to play red ball I think we have to find a position for him that hes comfortable playing.

NZ doesnt have the player depth to leave someone like Guptill out of the test team regardless. 2009 and 2013 killed his average which was 38 at its peak.

Clearly hes our premier white ball player averaging 44 in ODIs and 33 in T20s and has the most runs in t20 history, and even though hes clearly shown he can belt spin its ridiculous he didnt get picked for IPL yet Williamson did while he is very much in bad form.

NZ wont finished their 50 overs, 2 sensational catches.

This is the issue, we are nearly at Santner already.

If These 2 get out, game over, simple. Eng will chase anything sub 270.

Great fielding from Eng, amazing.

I want to see Engs bottom order batting where it gets going, but I dont think we will see it this tour.

Oh man what was Santner thinking there, calling and taking off on a misfield without even seeing Southee, there goes 200.

Eng will score this within 30 overs.

Southee was our key for any kind of respectability.

Santner needs to work on so many things, headless as Nas describes, Doull simply states only Santner can explain what that was.

Any which way, we shouldnt have been in this position. But it does show how shallow our batting is, its terrible

He said headless referring to all of them. As I keep saying we arent good enough when we play a good team. Talent is there, the decision making isnt.

Well I think its finally sunk in for Santner what they need from him in the batting, and thats to see the tail through the final overs. Regardless of the run out, well done !!!!!

He is in the team for his ability to bat, if he was only in the team as a  bowler her wouldnt make the team and he wouldnt have bowl/batsman next to his name.

Whilst its soooooo very unlikely, with Fergussons speed, if Santner can block one end, and Boult and Southee get it moving in the air, who knows, its a good 60-70 short with a team that are genuine batsman to #10, 220-230 gives some resemblance of not impossible like it was at 80-6.

Endlessly repeating a stupid statement doesn't make it true. I really think this thread should be locked as it has long ago descended into farce. It really is Trump like.

The commentary said it again today, its been said all summer, and when you have Bowler/BATSMAN next to your name in a game it is because thats what you are in the team for. So please dont make ironic statements.

NZ has needed depth in that position since Mccullum moved to opening from 7, it never really got properly filled, someone who can see a game home, which Santner has twice now, in a row.

I am more 50/50 about Nicholls now. I feel its time to give Phillips a genuine shot and let Latham focus just on batting, he didnt do great today which is his at home average but he might get 40 next time as he might feel comfortable in the position and I like him and Taylor together. Munro needs to just turn it down a notch, some balls just arent there to be hit, much like Guptill plays himself in now and then turns it up.

I wan't being ironic, I was being factual. Santner justifies his place on his bowling, your endless statements that he doesn't are stupid and show a gross lack of understanding of the facts.

As I said earlier you can have your own opinions but not your own facts. The numbers back up my position, yours is your own creation and doesn't reflect the facts.

Im not even going to bother arguing with you are you are arguing with yourself. the fact is, he is in the team as bowler/batsman. fact. whether you think hes good enough to be a bowler is your opinion which is irrelevant to my point that he needed to lift his batting game. end of.

Hes been working hard between games lol.

Hes been practising running out teams mates instead (its humour precious puppies).

I thought fergusson did quite well to hang in there.

We just dont have a reliable middle order and our bottom order is being relied upon to do half to 2/3 the work, it was DGH earlier in the season.
