Dochart:Bubbzy:
We're looking likely to face SA in the semis who are looking in form at the moment. And get revenge for 2015.
Going to be a good one.
The SA side in this world cup have been outstanding. I wouldn’t be surprised if SA end up winning the world cup.
I don't think so. 😜
Thanks for explaining "plethora".
It means a lot.
So, semifinal against the team NZ couldn't beat in the final in Christchurch three weeks ago. Think I would have preferred the SA's.
Who plays for NZ? Time to give Neesham a rest and play someone else at 6, any of Guptill, Bracewell or Chapman. Do they move Mitchell up to open again with Allen and try to properly muscle the powerplay. Felt like there were too many dot balls in the first six overs against SL, they need to be bashing it over the top while the field is up. Is Conway in good form to do that currently.

Dochart:
If the Blackcaps win the toss in the semi final and bat first in Sydney they should stick with the same team. If they lose the toss and have to bat last I would have Bracewell in for Sodhi.
How would they do that? The XI is named before the toss.

Name the team and default on the toss 🙏
Here we go again. 3 star batsmen fail, Kane bails us out of a horror score. Every game . If we bowl and field our way out of this one, its still no good

Pakistan can easily chase this. We needed to get at least 170 or more.
England was able to chase 144 at this ground vs Sri Lanka.
Frustrating. Now any team where the top 4 bat well will always win, so we dont expect that, we just hope it. But the batting inconsistency is legendary. I think this is the best batting side in years, but well, unsure why its like this.
Pakis doing what they should do, go hardish, if they lose a couple they can regroup, if they dont lose early wickets, its game over. Bowlers and fielders a little ragged, but understandably so. 48 after 5.1 they might as well field and bowl to limit singles and risk the boundaries.
Pakis a bit ragged too lol. But they have a large buffer to fiddle with

I'm sorry, I can't agree with this. The purpose of the Powerplay overs is to artificially constrain the field inside the circle to promote hitting to, and over, the boundary. Williamson wasted too many Powerplay balls only scoring singles (28 runs off 28 balls) before he smacked that six over square leg, clean as a whistle. He's as much to blame as the rest of the top order in digging the hole to put NZ squarely in the losing position.
When the others fell cheaply, it was even more incumbent on him to hit the 'go-switch' and use his undoubted huge skill to find the fence quickly and often. It's not good enough to say he's going to hold up an end and let the lesser guys at the other end hit. Williamson has more pure skill and ability than any of our other batters, and most in world cricket. Hanging in there until over ten, and having a bit more of a dart after the drinks break won't cut it against top opposition as Pakistan are now demonstrating.
Instead, he continued to swing across the line and knock the ball down to Long On for one. If you're going to risk and hit across the line anyway, he needed to go square and try and find the fence. The game was lost even before he got out.
Handle9: Lol. Qualified top of the table for the semis and this thread thinks we’re terrible.
Correct. Embarrassing.
Dochart: I’m expecting Williamson to be dropped as captain by NZC if we don’t win this game.
