wow surprised Ind didnt choose to bat first. If NZ post a 300+, Ind could struggle. No Williamson, fair enough. NZ have insane depth. But Ind do have good bowlers.

My thoughts exactly. 2 out of 3 games the team batting first on this ground has won. Bringing Sky in for Pandya and Shami in for Shardul was what I was expecting India to do.

Im concerned about Ravindra, this is not a minnow team, he was horrible in the last tour of Ind. He just fishes around for the ball early on. ugggh.

He’s been extremely lucky so far. It’s going to be a big issue if Young and Ravindra continue to do well while Williamson is out.

270 would be a HUGE score here. The pitch is sooooooo slow.

This could end up a 240 tight game. This surface looks dead.

Told ya Shami. Will Young plays one onto his stumps. NZ in trouble now.

Going ok now. Mitchell got his 100.
Should get high 200s now or possibly even 300 if they finish well.

Yeah, even with all the sloppy fielding they couldnt turn into what should have been 300+. which I think would have been a real test for Ind, scoreboard pressure just wasnt high enough.

Ravindra is becoming NZ's new era Nicholls, dropped twice, not hard catches either. To be fair Mitchell too. NZ were lucky to get 273. I think we are missing Williamson to guide the middle stage or flopped openers. I thought Will Young was looking classy so early on. Conway out to a gorgeous shot that would beat the fieldsman 90% of the time, he looked truly stunned, he did absolutely crack it and low trajectory so I imgagine it would be hard from his angle to accept.

Phillips is struggling, it feels like often hes unsure whether or not to play his natural game, more so when we are twenty odd short of where we should be when he comes in. Hes far better than hes putting on at the moment.

Im sure NZ wont give so many catching opportunities next time.

I thought Fergusson and Henry bowled well, definitely a batting pitch, KJ would be an ideal type all rounder to play there. The most beautiful ground imo, the whole area is gorgeous.

In the end we were twenty short of beating them, I think if we meet them in the final they are definitely beatable. If we make it that far. at least our hifh NRR wont have been dented much.

This match is on at a better time, I think the aussies are always a good gauge of where we are at. Certainly beating them improves things, but we have a lot of the to ranked teams to come.

Phillips needs to settle down a bit, he had enough time to build a 50+ score at 6rpo+, I feel hes trying to prove his worth. Mind you his bowling has been a treat to watch, clean bowling some decent batsmen with googlies with flight is always exciting to watch.

We are getting spanked once henry bowled those no balls, 87 off 7 overs, seriously.... ferguson wrong line just fed warner what he wanted.

edit: even Santner is not safe, aus 108 off 8 overs, this game is almost out of NZ's hands already.

Glenn Phillips turning the tap off. Down to 8rpo now, phew. 3ov for only 13. not going for wickets with these two at the crease.

score predictor even with runs drying up 412.

GP showing he is the far better spin option than Rachin. Rachin finally delivering runs.

GP STRIKES, caught and bowled, hes got a golden arm.

Too difficult to watch for me, I've switched to the Phoenix game.  Kelly-Heald will be paying for Paulsen's drinks for the next couple of weeks I'd say.
