They spent a few mill on relaying the ground and drainage so that should now be a non event

Scott needs to be permanently ineligible, there is no question on that

To me, our only target is the openers, and Kohli who comes in at 3. If we cannot succeed there, we will be all out to remain in with a sniff. IMHO we can't committ to a way to remove them and stick with it, we need to adapt early and try a new tack. Change bowlers or ends every 2 minutes if need be, they have to go

Yeah I bet Smithy is going to sound chuff now that he lives there.

After watching the Aussie Test and ODIs. especially the ODIs, Dhoni really restricts the run rate and takes it deep, if we can get to him and have Kholi out, I think we can take his winning in the last over speciality away from him with our bowlers. Aus were trying too much. Which we can at times fall into doing too.

Toss cant be far off, hope we chase. Annecdotally we seem to struggle unless we have a number to aim at, I guess thats human nature

"It has been almost 10 years since India last registered a series win in New Zealand, with the 0-4 loss in the previous series in 2014 probably still on the back of the mind of Virat Kohli" Cricbuzz

Yep. I know they want minimum 300 from every game as thats what they consider par for the WC. I think that will be a very good score at Napier against 2-3 spinners, pace off the ball. Will have to see how it goes, India didnt overly impress me in the ODIs against Aus, lost the first one, and only just won the last 2, the last being 230 odd.

So this will at least give us some gauge where we are at for the series and the series will give us an idea if we are in with a chance of the 4 in the WC.

Ok it is moving off the pitch. Geeze that seamed 1 foot back in, good cutter, looked lbw to me. OH man and now Guptil chips it on. Bowling much better today.

Well this could be Fergussons best chance at showing what he can do with the ball gripping off the seam. The difference in OZ it just wasnt seaming or swinging.

Good point, India arent able to play the best ODI seam bowler in the world this tour.

OMG, gorgeous Hadlee like seamers, through the gate, perfectly between bat and pad (gate). Sensational, where was this in Aus. Geeze I hope it does lose its seam after 2 overs as they said.

If these 2 can get to 20 overs, 90/2 is par for course, but the first 10 is well below par

Those stats of Kholi and Dhoni batting first vs their very high total avgs definitely shows they avg MUCH higher batting second. So NZ should have taken that into account in the toss.

Outside Guptil, NZ just playing bad shots and not looking to play assertively once a partnership was reformed.

This is where we need you Nicholls, go on with Kane and then the tail to make 130/90

Due t NZ getting themselves out its going to be hard to get any gauge from this game.

Was just thinking that. If they try to close the gap to a score to bowl at they will probably lose wickets faster, and look worse than what it really is. But they still need t do that, no pit batting to lose, bat to make a win possible. Hard to assume we can get a run of wickets.

Im not sure we have batted poor, they have bowled well, sucked us in.

Commentators making excuses, India has momentum, we haven't played for a couple of weeks. The answer is, this is the No.2 side not Sri Lanka. All batsmen have struggled, so IMO its due to facing better bowlers and field placement.
