If the AB's are playing, for me it's the Warri who?

I expect a first round finals exit for the Warriors, if not a second. They are improving, but consistency is a problem.

I expect there will be mental fortitude issues seeing it's been so long since they were in a final.

I wish them well though.

:-)

"ors"

The consistency has improved, but at the expense of as many x factor plays, but they still pop up. As long as they play with flair and not boring up the middle sets then kick and hope, then in with a chance of going on. (Subject to tdgeek commentators curse.) I've enjoyed it actually. They have some top starplayers, that turns a nice side into a very good side.

The Warriors offload last game could have potential for pass of the season. Magic. Looks like something Beaden Barrett would do!

Yeah, off loads rock for them. I think they are No.1 or close for that. Some games that been low, but it does look very AB esque when they offload and run the ball. Good stuff

Well, this prediction turned out spot on it seems.

Congrats on a better year for them, but in my view probably need 10% improvement next year to be contenders to go further. They need better consistency.

Completing sets, consistent defense and a few more sparkle situations on attack. Previously their attack has been sparkling, but defensively they were awful. It's a balance thing. Fitness too I think will help with this.

Yeah all in all a good effort, a max turnaround. Wasnt able to watch it, wont bother now, but from al accounts they got on the board, and scored nothing after RTS went off. He may well be the No.1 No.1 and hot favourite for an award, but you can't drop the chin, not the first time they have dropped the chin after a setback. Not bad for a wee country playing in a league of the No.1 league nation.

I get really aggravated when I see the comments about the Warriors need to improve their completion rate. They are in the top four for completion rate and have been for a couple of years. It's one of the things that Kearney has focused on very heavily.

Their attack has come a long way this year, last year they were too predictable but this year their attack has been pretty good. Missed tackles are still their biggest weakness but Kearney and Brian Smith have come in with a plan and you can see progress this year. Year 1 sets structures, year 2 improves execution and year 3 we should start to see results.

They aren't the final product but their is progress and there seems to be a definite plan.

well said re complections, this is a NEW warriors, year one Kearney fixed completions are sacrafice of winning games.

this year they concentrated on fitness and defense, and whilst they did miss some tackles long range, they were 2nd in the comp in the red zone (own 20 metres) for defense.

next year they will concentrate on offense.

its bennett to bellamy to kearney how to coach a team in 3 years recipe.

Shaun Johnson is gone!

Probably the right decision for both parties. I wasn't a fan of his. Mercurial is the word for him in my view, and the club needs reliable and dependable.

The way the club handled this is poor however. It shows they still aren't a professional club, and this is one of the main reasons they aren't able to get results from their coaches and players.

In my view, their entire boardroom bar the new chairman and CEO need to be cleaned out. There is too much personality at this club, too many people having a say about who plays etc.

I agree. The club seems to have a fetish about not performing well in the NRL for years, they hang their hat on that every media article. They are living in the past too much, whereas the focus needs to be the future. Thats probably part of the reason they went AWOL every now and then after a great start to 2018. When they became a bona fide contender they dwelled on righting the past wrongs. That's no way forward. Cleanout is a good idea

The Blues and Warriors have very similar structures (until recently) and I believe this is one of the main issues for both teams onfield performances.

The Blues have undergone a major restructure, removed some members of the board as part of the buy out. I'm not convinced this will immediately fix their issues but a change in mindset and clear boundaries of responsibility are key. Board members should not be concerning themselves with decisions made on field, their job is something else entirely.

The club just can't keep it's mouth shut and act like professionals! It's really frustrating seeing them make unnecessary comments at Johnson.

Everyone knows he underperformed, it's obvious (Him included), sure he probably had a crappy attitude from time to time. Continuing to point it out looks petty and silly. Both parties will be better off without each other and so I don't really get the motivation behind it.

Some fans are upset Johnson has gone, but ultimately, they will adjust. The club just ends up looking defensive, and it's a distraction from what they should be doing.

The board needs to stick to the high-level stuff like ensuring the youth program continues to develop and making the Warriors where young players want to go, rather than where good players go to see out the end of their careers.

Johnson gone, Luke gone, Lino gone, its going to be a hard watch next season. I'm picking I will flag it after 2 matches. They had a very very good side, but will see what happens.

Go the Sharks. yell

Townsend plays for the Sharks doesn't he? SJ and him are a mean combo.

If he plays well, that's maybe true, but then if SJ played well for the Warriors, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Hopefully he finds a club he wants to play for that will be able to get the most from him.  For me, the issue isn't his ability, rather his attitude, which affects the effort he puts in to being consistent.
