Poor most of the season, no excuses. "Our heart wasnt in it" didn't one of their players say? Leave the game if anyone plays with that mindset.

It was set for ridiculous season before it even started.

If George, the CEO, had planned to publicly shame Johnson into shopping around, why did he not do so at the end of last season so we did not miss out on some actual first class 5/8ths not Kodi Nikorima (ie Corey Norman).

So much like Johnsons 2 replacements last year George looks to have signed off on ANOTHER very average hooker in Wayde Egan from the panthers to replace Luke or whoever in 2nd grade.

This season at one stage we played 4 hookers in 1 game. Its absurd.

It seems to me George is trying to buy a value for money team but the problem is every signing is just average, if you fill the 30 man squad with value for money you are just going to have a very average team. And given the Coach, whilst good at straightening out simple errors and improving goal line defense, he is beyong saving at coaching offense.

Why is it we have no problem getting to the opposition 20m (red zone) in any game for most of the first half, to often come away with no points. We have no penetration. We have no set plays. We do not have a 5/8th capable of creating holes or drawing and passing for the winger to score, like we did with SJ. Even when SJ was MIA in personal attack of the line and everyone berated him, he was still setting up tries for the team. We are not getting that from Green and certainly not from the 5/8th who it should come from as he creates it by running at the line diagonally very quickly with the ball out in front two hands, he attracts his opposite but he also attracts their centre, he then passes either to the centre who quickly passes to the winger who scores unmarked or he skips the centre directly to the winger where somebody like Fusitua is capable of scoring those super man type tries.

But that shouldnt be our only offensive play anyway. Now its more like 4 hit ups, pass the ball wide with no penetration and then kick for an uncontested ball either giving the opposition the ball or worse giving them a 7 tackle set.

There is no players in motion, players running at opposite angles ie half offloads on the inside the running forward at pass diagnonally passes to the other half who then passes to a centre or fast 2nd rower who either is through a hole or passes for an overlap.

There are at least 20 set plays like that we could use and given we have players like RTS, and big guys like Maumolo hitting reverse angles at speed etc, we should not be having any problem scoring from 10m out.

Outside the 5/8th half isssue, SK just isnt a good offense Coach. In the Kiwis role, he relied upon individual talent and we played very unstructured.

But now he has implemented the Storm processes, we do well getting up the field due to a great completion rate and structured footy, but at the try line we have nothing outside continuing the structure which will never score points and thats definitely not how Bellamy implements offense.

I think SK needs a high qualiy offense coach. Not Jones etc. A specialist, somebody who knows how to create havoc, ie Cooper Cronk. Of course we have to pay overs to get somebody of his calibre to join our coaching team. But its necessary or we wont make the 8 until Cameron George lives by his own words to Johnson, "no one person is bigger than the club". Prove it Georgie.

We have the best back 3 in the competition. Fus got Dally M last year for top try scorer and Maumolo this year was darn close and of course we have the best defensive FB and a mighty offensive stepper in RTS who got the Dally M and the FB Dally M last year.

The problems were

A. Kata wouldnt pass (much like Kodi), we should have played CNK at centre, instead he is now playing in a grand final in his first real year of first grade. George didnt think at all when he released all our halves and CNK, what a waste of us buying him, him proving he his intensity and not playing him, much like Lawton, a very intense player which is what most of our team lacks.

B. George completely .... up the halves, way too much for CHT to handle as a 19yo rookie, out of position at 6 and no half back for 4 weeks. Then the most knee jerk purchase in history of Kodi who is now back playing off the bench as he did for Brisbane. George really just doesnt know football and hes trying to run the TEAM like its a business when his job is to run the CLUB as a business. The new owners should either sack him or get his hands off the team completely.

C. SK cannot implement basic set plays for the red zone offense. Not even simple ones. That has to be fixed or we will continue to fail. The reason we have such a bad for an against is because we are not scoring when we have a plethora of ball in the opposition red zone. If you are scoring often, the opposition  does not have the possession or field position to put points on our defense, resulting in a positive for and against which results in finishing in the top 8. Just look at the top 3 this year and their for and against. Melbourne especially who we are now modelled off but dont have the knowledge on how to get over the line (or are instructed to just play structure still in the red zone). Even Cooper Cronk in his last year for the Roosters was putting on some sweet looking set plays. This is Cronks 9th Grand Final, incredible. He could keep going no problems and likely make another final for another 3 years. Plenty of players are now going on passed the 35yo mark. But I respect why he is retiring. Cant blame him. Canberra imo were the most mighty in unpredictable offense in the red zone.

So they have not replaced like for like SJ or Luke, leaving our spine weak. I do hope Chanel HT gets to play 7 this year a few games and Im picking Kodi who was a knee jerk buy after Boy George messed up the SJ incident, Im picking he may get sidelined or played as hooker (which could be a good position for him, providing he knows when to pass and when to run to steal 10 or catch players offside), which makes signings like Wade from the pennies another ell cheapo purchase destined for 2nd grade. Im really hoping Hayze Pearham pulls his socks up and delivers what SJ and RTS both saw in him in 2018, Hes of age now, will make a big 5/8th but there have been other successful guys in that position of size. If you have the speed and the tackle breaking ability it actually makes sense to be a big 6. Hes got the step and the speed, does he have the desire. Like cricket, not all 1st grade elite batsmen make well at iternational level. I feel Hayze is on that borderline, not really showing a lot last seaon.

So new owners. Mark Robinson has put the club on notice he will be hands on and he wont accept any rubbish. He has said the buck stops with SK, but... I hope Boy George the CEO is first in line. He ruined out chances last year of top 8 minimum by destroying a spine, letting go of all our halves, I half blame SK and Stacy Jones for CNK but also George for releasing him. He was obviously the most intense player at the club and gagging for 1st grade. He should have been an instant replacement for Kata, but nobody talks to each other. Gone are the days of John Ackland producing super stars with 3 premierships in 4 year as Coach, as per the players having no player development Ackland was not given the big job which he would have done well at imo, so he left for England.

Already Boy George has shown his class by swearing on a public video. A CEO of a business. Already again messing with the players and not concentrating on running the CLUB/Business.

On the positives, RTS has still not left yet to alls amazement.

I hope first to go is Cameron George and any body he hired or players he signed off on. Dock him all his pay for destorying a potential top 4 spine and letting go of the most improved player of the year and 2nd only to RTS as defensive FB in CNK.

Then SK, then Jones, Iro, all of them, gone.

Start fresh with a coach who has the balls to put our Polynesian players into line when they are not "All In". I voted Geoff Toovey. If we had been wise we could have snaffled Ivan Cleary, possibly NSW 7 Nat Cleary and old man James Maloney who is headed for Eng and Im sure would have jumped at another go with Warriors should Cleary been appointed coach, especially if his NSW and Penrith 7 was in on the deal. Strangely their stats dont support how well they play together. But Penrith are not happy with Ivans performance so it may still happen should he do a Nathan Brown and mess up a hyper talented team with 23% win ratio.

Oh wait the Warriors have hired Nathan Brown, I presume so we can be even more sh.., no doubt a Boy George concept. So should be easily cleaned up.

With current coach and outside a miracle that the boys pick it up 10 notches every game, I see us fighting for the Wooden Spoon.

Still a supporter, but not going to hold back and put up with rubbish when I and other supporters are paying their wages.

Warriors pre season games free on NRL.com, just need to join.

A lot of players doing all stars and indigenous games this weekend, but still plenty there, storm fielding a lot of their top players. CHT playing 6 which surprises me as hes our future 7.

No, I was just REALLY dissapointed in our effort, more so the Boxing day test, the Perth test is silly with day night still having major issues, a ball that goes soft after 20 overs, swing crazy at twlight, effectively you win the toss you should win. Was also majorly annoyed at us selecting just after Test 2 with England which bit us in the Butt, when Aus didnt select until the last minute, which is what we should have done, however had our opener been replaced we wouldnt have been in the position to give Blundell a go, who scored his 2nd test century in 2 tests, about the only positive from the Test Series. We are much better than what we showed and now Aus think we are rubbish, which clearly pasting #1 today we are not. We should go back to #2 if we win this one which we should unless we cannot put on at least another 100 in this innings. Jameson looks good, as long as he keeps to this good channel, he could be very much a Mcgrath like Fast-Medium bowler at consistent 130kph, a slow Cummins if you will.

Back to Warriors, considering Fusitua is the only real name out there, Warriors are really out gunned in this game and are just ahead. CHT looking really good. Also good to see Perham out there, but him and CHT are in the wrong halves positions, I guess to try them out, more so for Hayze to have some experience if ever needed at 7.

Edit: Warriors now down by 2 points. Regardless been a good go by the Warriors.

Well close loss, could have won it with a bit better handling. But pre season trials are more about trialing players, positions, playbooks. As long s you dont get toweled a win or loss doesnt mean too much. Was good for both clubs to be honest.

Warriors definitely missing the experienced forwards with no starting players but also only 1 starting back. So given Melb had at least 5 starting players, I think was a good trial for the reserve grade and for SK. Next week will tell a lot more about whats changed, if anything.

Tonights Indigenous game should be a cracka with Maori getting pasted in the first ever one last year.

So it looks like a reset date of the competition will occur at May 28th all going to plan, with SoO following NRL Prem season.

Im not sure if this means a restart, ie Warriors get to wash the 2 disgraceful performances. Admittedly they had the 2nd hardest draw this season.

I firmly believe they should only play each team once and change home grounds every second year, this 1.5 draw is just rubbish. You always get teams with really unfair draws and others with the softest draws possible, which dictates the outcme of the season sooooo much. It just makes no sense. More rep game post NRL season and not this circus of SoO interrupting the NRL season and weakening some teams etc.

If it is a restart and is 17 rounds, then I hope they see the benefit in doing this every year from now on. The season will be more fair and it will not be interupted along with SoO actually being concentrated into 3-4 weeks not 6-8.

Im all for it. I just hope they test all players prior to resumption. The Warriors currently trying to get exemption from the Aus Govt so they can train much earlier than the start date in NSW, same issue for out of state teams.

Edit, forget that they have gone with a 20 rd season. Flappn absurd. Why make the extra stress. Making it not only doubley hard for a dodgy draw like the warriors already have but not having any home games. Not impressed.

Who cares?

This is purely about money and keeping the players in jobs and the clubs solvent, not about "sport".

People who care about the sport care, nobody wants to see the league go under. So its a good move.

Sure you your comment was about it making the Warriors uncompetitive. The main concern is maximising revenue not giving every club an even playing field.
