A shocking result it gets worse and worse, and yes I've tried to support them. Cronulla are poor, one win ahead of us on the ladder but look at the score. Warriors are solid and reliable and consistent, that does not cut it. Watch real teams, they off load they penetrate. Even the Sharks can do that. We can't

That is indeed our problem. So why did we let go of our only player capable of creating that? Especially when we had just released all our halves and CNK without giving him a go at centre. Then to let another player who creates holes in Luke.

An offload is only as good as where the defender thinks its going or the sliding defense has no cover back on the inside.

To be fair this year is pretty damn hard not being able to return home and no home games. Its only going to get worse with Fus, Passi and Maumolo coming home after next weeks game and Pulu already back home alongside SK with his big payout.

Id love to see CHT and Hayze Perham have a game or 3 and for cripe sake sack George end of Year after signing a new coach and then look for a high quality CEO who doesnt create the situation I mentioned firstly. We have to be sourcing our X Talent from NZ not letting it be poached by aussie Scouts. So I think that part of the club needs to change as well. And any kiwis in Aus, play the national pride card. Why we havnt thrown high quality money at Brandon Smith yonks ago is beyond me. Now I think with this likely Cam Smiths final season its too late. ie stop buying either young players nobody wants or older ex great players nobody wants. Scout and retain and build on that by poaching good NZ players in aus or X factor aussie players at u20.

Takes a high quality management group to pull that off.

Ups to the team that went through this pandemic, but thats not the cause. We don't have the players. Luke, Johnson and many so ons. As a media article stated we cant rely on being a NZ team with the odd Blake Green. We dont have the players, or if we do, they go elsewhere. Warriors needs to the an Australaisian team in an Australasian comp. AUS 25 million NZ 5 million, that's the problem

It so hard to really know the problem, we have enough players with talent who arent delivering. But after losing a top 4 spine, then the coach gets sacked and CNK clearly should have filled Centre for Kata and is also let go. I think its more a Management and Coaching issue, we just dont have enough NRL level coaches in NZ, let alone top 4 ones. So we need to adapt and make changes to fix this. I think thats what Autex will do, they wont put up with Georges sh... much longer. Its also hard to judge anything off of this year. But I think we look better based in Gosford than Auckland. Id be all for making that our Australian Club ground and CCLC next door our Club. Would be fantastic to stay at the swanky Terrigal 5 star hotel where the players are camped, watch them train at Terrigal sharks ground, go to the game, then just walk next door for an all night drink and eat festival. Plus a lovely sunny 5-7 degrees warmer than Auck in winter there. Im all for it.

Yes that is indeed the problem right NOW, well we have the talent we just are not exhibiting it, if you go through the team, we have more than our fair share of class players, we are missing Johnson and Luke but thats it. but more so we are a top 4 team getting to the redzone and wooden spoon in execution of finishing such possesion off. Its like being Liverpool but not being able to score a goal.

But not that we have 5mill and they have 22.5, more we are lacking 2-3 key positions filled with cheapies. Per player in the NRL NZ represents at a much higher rate than 5:1 and they are usually class acts. You would say NSW and Qld so perhaps 10mill vs 5mill, but that 10 mill is die hard rugby league like NZ is to rugby union and NZs 5 mill are disinterested in the NRL. So its probably worse than the capita numbers haha. Maybe as high as 20:1 participation in the sport. But NZ or Aussies with kiwi backgrounds puts out better players in the NRL per capita imo. Its the rugby union thing does translate somewhat to league. We have seen many players in the warriors convert from Union to NRL.

Our problem is scouting players in NZ and retaining them and having a coach who can overcome our logistic issues and put the polish on players that show talent, like we did with CNK and then, we let him go. Thats on management.

Its a number of issues really, 1. being able to draw a class coach who is a team coach and can identify and fix individual weaknesses 2. scouting, developing, retaining NZ players of X factor 3. Management who understand as a club we are already at a disadvantage and only a bloody minded small man syndrome moron would let go of all their halves and CNK, then let Johnson go, then Luke 4. We dont have a lot to incentive a coach, let alone players from Aus to come to NZ (thank you Green and Lawton you beast. 5. We do not have a Club rooms like most clubs, like Gosford has Central Coast Leagues club next door. 6. We do not have an Aus club ground to incentive players and coaches and we play more home games away, we certainly do not lack aussie/kiwi fans in Aus.

Number 6 is the hard one, Id have said lower Brisbane as thats were most NZ born Aussies live, Logan to Gold coast area.

The benefit of being partially Aus home based is obvious. With 1/4 games played in NZ.

We dont even have a club in NZ and a crappy ground that has limited public transport with the majority being South based fans and true die hards.

CHT is a brilliant 7 and will go on to be one of NZs greats imo. But he is not a 6. I dont know who they are planning to replace Kodi with, but it needs to happen asap as he has 1.5yrs left. Hopefully Hayze gets some games so we can assess just how good he is. If that problem is solved, then its Hooker that we needed to have thrown a blank cheque at Brandon Smith a long time before Cameron Smith retires, too late imo. Then we just have a couple of forward positions that need filling with quality 80 min forwards, carbon copies of Tohu Harris. They are looking at a centre, but imo its not a priority, Peta has improved on defense and is a great offensive player. Patrick Herbert is like a lightning bolt out of nowhere

Just back to that redzone thing. We are at 80%+ completions and for example at least 12:1 in the red zone, yet our conversion was ridiculous. The sharks scored 6 tries out of the 30 let alone the 20.

So do we have the players is more do we have a capable team and the answer is yes, do they know how to get over the try line, no. Its that simple if we want to be simple.

What would help is Johnson at 6, a fast out of the play the ball 9 like Friend or Luke or any of the top 6 hookers, or like Lawton who played every back position last week, not bad from a winger originally. Those are the 2 glaringly obvious reasons we are not getting over the line, speed of play the ball and getting the opposition on the back foot so when in the red zone, you steam roll them, and secondly having a 5/8th who can deliver the called play or be good enough to create one on the fly (thats where Johnson is such a good team player). But Fus was top tryer 2018 and Rog got Dally M, Maomolo top try scorer 2019. We you really only need 4-5 top Elite players in a team and the rest should follow them. But we have so many issues as per above going against us, that doesnt work.

We had a top 4 team in 2018, go through that team list, that spine is what Kearney was sold the position on, but we let go of our key offensive players that dont need individual coaching. Then the coach. We did another back flip when George arrived. He is ultimately responsible for our performance given the changes he made.

We have never had a top 4 coach in our 27 years.

I trust the new owners will rectify this, if they think Kearney isnt good enough, Egan and Kodi are walking a tight rope and George im sure is a goner. They will be offering big money for the right coach.

So after today we lose Maumolo, Passi and Fusitua, returning to NZ. Pulu and couple others already here.

So a miracle win is needed to keep us clear of that Spoon.

Warriors 4/5 at Gosford.

5/5 Warriors vs Roosters.

Flap sake make Gosford our home away from home.

Coydner out.

Johnson making George look an IDIOT, most try assists by far with 15, next closest 11. Not to mention his own tries. Sack George, throw the cheque book and an apology and Johnson, insta top 8 team with Lawton at 9.

Well well, hands vs last week haha. Got a couple of Parra utilities on loan, thats good news.

OMG Kodi Nikorima drops it on play 1 from the redzone scrum, you flappn idiot. Please sack George, I want the leading try assist player back putting us through holes.

Oh god then Kodi throws a ball to Jazz feet

Jazz and Lawton = awesome. Lawton lights up our line speed. Egan put him on the market. We have 4 hookers. Just dont put all 4 on the market like George did in his 2nd year with the halves.

Edit: Flap ref is 8:1 against us again. Roosters havnt had to make a full set on their own steam without a penalty or 6 again yet. I dont see why we are be penalised half of these.

And FLAP roosters score off the refs BS penalty. 6-6

Man Katoa just keeps getting better, do we lack talent? Hell no !!!! Great try. If we could have got David Fafita great, but the Rubert from the Sharks is also a great signing, but hes trying to get out of the signing. We need just 1 more Katoa. Lawton is killing it at 9, id be tempted to give him the job full time. He is catching them offside and or just getting our sets going quick. Again Kodi is the main problem in the back line, dropping the ball or throwing lace level passes. He just doesnt have enough consistent team play and his Magic type play is even more rare then Johnson. Id be having a quiet word with Johnson if I were the owners, behind Georges back.

We lost against Titans due to 2 ref errors that cost 12 points. Today we have bombed 6 points and Kodi has bombed 3 chances in the red zone. We lead 3x in errors that half 6-2. Not our best, but completions not bad considering, essentially dropping it in the red zone.

Some how were lead by 4 at half time.

Jake Friend has harrassed the ref the whole game and now while everyone is in the tunnel he is in the middle having a discussion with the ref. THAT is what RTS lacks, instead of getting shirty with your form or desperate passes, start pressing the refs and not accepting everything they throw at us.

And there we go again. Referees call a strip on the 5th tackle when the player is trying to offload which is not a strip which they got right in a game last week. The ref inconsistency makes me want to vommit.

Warriors could lose by 2 again thanks to the refs. Add the Titans game and if we had won this one, we would be in a much different position on the ladder.

That was just plain wrong.

So win or lose, so far the warriors been the better team even with bad ball handling.

And the game finishes with the Warriors looking to score on the Roosters try line and Kodi drops it for a 3rd time. Its like the club just do not understand how important somebody like a Reynolds, Johnson, Keary are for scoring withing the redzone or even creating broken field play outside it. 7s get all the glory but 5//8ths are the ones who execute the play (or in Kodis case, they dont).

Well done boys.

Given the refs totally .... up again, leading to 6 points to the Roosters they shouldnt have. We lost by a failed conversion (oh Kodi).

Pretty good effort considering many still think the Roosters will be the first club since Parra to defend 3 prems in a row.

Jack Heatherington, Lawton, Tohu, Katoa, Maumolo, Fus, Green all had excellent games.

We have so much to build on. We have so much money being freed up for both players and coaches, if we get the right management and scouts using Kiwi talent which makes it much easier to keep them in NZ, OR we set up a 2nd Home ground at Gosford (which means we attract aussie players and coaches easier), next 3 years will be interesting. Just bring back Johnson and Lawton to hooker, Keep Peyton as coach, insta top 8, possibly top 4 as success breeds success. RTS 1 try 1 try assist this year, just not good enough. We need Johnson who is by far this years top points breeding player.

Have a look how far ahead Johnson is overall in what counts, line engaged and try assists, he makes Kodi look not even good enough for reserve grade.

Nathan Brown and Gus Gould to coach warriors. Im indifferent on it, Brown is a sack of useless but Gus is a strong talker which our team needs.

Rumour of SJ possibly returning.

Rudolff will not be coming.

Boys played 20 mins of the weekends game with 12 men in which they leaked 18 points. So understandable. Otherwise was an excellent performance.

The week before much the same.

We beat the Titans in reality but the refs robbed us 12 points, of which we only needed 4.

We had the Rooster beat but let it slip, but that was rebuilding.

So given that, we could be 7 wins and in the top 8. As it is now, looks like we would need 6/7 to have some hope of the 8s. Unlikely. But damn good effort considering the team we have had and new coach etc. Most clubs would take out the spoon in this situation.

Great end to season and to see the Warriors get back to spreading the ball and letting it sing, whilst Kodi was a bad purchase he has a good short ball, CHT first kick was a dud, but created a try by fluke, then he set up to more tries via his grubber and banana bomb.

4 high quality young gun forwards joining next year, Katoa, Brown, Kane Evans, Jack Murchie is already proving himself and Heathrington if he stays injury free. Fast mobile big men = fast metre gaines and offloads.

We have played without our top wingers, so now there is competition for the Wings, Centres and 5/8th spot due to hiring Euan Aitken. I can see our Res Grade team competing for the NSW cup as well.

I expect nothing less than a top 4 spot, if Brown flaps up the new owners wont accept mediocrity and fire him or anyone in the club and business not performing.

I do wish we had a better 5/8th than Kodi, I think Hayze is a better 5/8th and not a centre. Also wish Lawton and Egan were replaced with a high quality hooker who has a kicking game as Kodi doesnt, which leaves it all on CHT. In saying that Lawton's intensity is infectious so we need to keep him, Egan tries to mess with the markers too much instead of just running hard or clearing the ruck fast.

LOL, Kodi Santner?

Yes its a great end, and that's ALL due to one person, which is obvious, but they dont have him next season, so better cross fingers and toes on the top 4 prediction

I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I read the Warriors signed Shaun Johnson for 2 years. I mean REALLY? What are either party thinking? It's not like Johnson left and was suddenly fantastic, he has been OK most of the time with moments of brilliance.

The breakup originally was so contentious, why is either party so desperate that they would go back into that relationship together.

I really think the Warriors have no hope of being great whilst they continue to make these decisions.
