Definitely a major bummer that AFB is wanting out due to "compassionate" reasons. Me thinks a tempting bag of cash and other benefits have been wafted under his nose. Contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on these days.

yeh bro, first he wanted early release to leave Sydney now its same reason...... I suspect Redcliffe or Broncs have got to him. Thats 3 years of contract. No way can we release without like for like or compensation.

wat sucks is is so many guys signed on unders, hes one of the highest.

Would be nice to keep it in the bag to go elite HB shopping to replace SJ, if we could get enough metres from our developing players. But they more 115kg like Barnett type size. But Penrith seem to do wll focusing on the spine.

It's worth considering that he may actually have compassionate grounds. I'd be waiting for this to play out before casting aspersions but that's just me.

Thats a bit too sensible and stable for some here. But I agree. Put the facts on the table first.

No doubt, I dont think suggesting anyone thinks otherwise has any purpose. its not personal, as the article says, more to come.

It would be great if some how we could keep him and his family, its been done before. We dont know the situation so its hard to say whats possible yet.

But my comments were general, as said above the contracts are worthless, thats more of a judgements given we had 7+ all do the same and walk out. Its hard to manage any club with that being the norm in the competition. That is more my general point.

Bit of a shock to me as aFB's game has flourished at the Warriors, so didnt see that coming.

at this stage its a concern for our premiership asperations in the coming year. If we can some how negotiate a release post 24 then that could still work as we will be very much in rebuild in 25. Id expect there will be conditions etc, often the case when doing early release of a teams top player etc.

Edit: Kiwis vs Kangaroos PC final, Saturday 4th at 5pm, Curtain Raiser Physical Disability Rugby League Kiwis v PDRL Kiwis A 3pm.

Newshub says the article I posted is updated, the only change, Cameron George has stated the club is considering the request...

Was a lot closer game than the scoreboard reflects vs the Kangaroos last week, but I think the Kiwis have a good chance against them on Saturday in the Final of the PC. We have a mix of veterans and young rookies, but a fairly decent over all balance. I think the young guys coming through the Warriors development contracts are going to strengthen the Kiwis team for the near future (1 to 3yrs from now) Wishing them good luck.

Rugby league: NZ Kiwis hope to ease pain of All Blacks' World Cup defeat with Pacific Championship title victory against Australia | Newshub

Fairly even teams, aus I would say has less rookie players, but the young guys in the Kiwis are quality players, so playing at this level is the only way to see them get better. Great to see big Nelson in a kiwis Jersey, if he transferred to the Warriors he would be a cult classic. all 200cm of him :-).

Warriors have reported they have come to an agreement with AFB to stay for the 2024 season while assessing his options beyond that. So I guess those compassionate grounds can be put on hold for a season then....

Forgot to post it. But gotta say, I called it :-).

Thank you aFB for not being a SHt bloke those other 6 or 7 who walked out of a contract. We really need him to have a realistic chance.

If addin and SJ play like they did last year, I rate our chances of making the final reasonably high. We need to finish minor premiers, which if we play like our last half the season or close to two thirds, we will seriously be hard to knock off MP's.

Wow what a team we have forming next year, I just dont know where Webby is going to fit them all.

I really want to see ali start some matches at centre. Despite Berry improving, RTS joining centres and Pompey being consistent. Leiataua is not waiting to join another club like so many quality Warriors players. He has shown in NSW Cup how devastating he is on offence, he is a genuine winger with all the skills, imo our best OB given the time in FG. He is so hard to stop near the try line and he has very trick in the book to put th winger away unmarked.  Official NRL profile of Ali Leiataua for Warriors | Warriors

Kosi just keeps improving, could easily become a prolific try scorer for us with a half decent centre pairing. Like ali, he plays with SO much intensity, it appears as anger, but its not, its share will power to score. The types of players we have needed for so long.

In the forwards, Im hoping Zyon Maiu'u goes on with it, he is one bloody tough nut who in NSW cup has also been prolific in refusing to be tackled. Throw players like Niukore and Jazz in there and some how get some more intensity from aFB and this forward pack will dominate the middle 3rd giving the backs a couple of offensive tackles nearly every set. Not to mention the OBs hitting u the first two tackles. Then they will crush and fold the opposition on defense, possibly enough that it zaps the will to play from the opposition. Its not just wishful thinking, the potential is truly there.

I think we will dominate Dallly Ms again.....

I think thats a smart move on his behalf, he is clearly genuinely trying to find somewhere healthy for him and his family to be. He didnt want to live in Syd, which I can understand, Im curious if the auck culture is too much or his parents cant get a visa here? Im sure we will find out in time. I do hope he finds the right solution, but the maturity to stick it out while thinking it out, really is good for all. It might be resolvable. If not, hes put thought into it.

People’s circumstances change and what they thought they wanted may not actually be what they needed.

He’s entitled to ask, the Warriors are entitled to say no. The world keeps turning.

Of course nobody suggested other than the obvious. Its a little simple minded to only consider the player and suggest thinking about the complete picture is a negative thing. If anything the outcome is a good compromise and exactly what I called due to considering the players longer term position in the NRL. Ive seen it too many times and want to see the best for aFB while working with the club for a positive outcome.

So figured out which HRV filters I need, kinda.

Just not sure if should get the basic filter or go for HEPa filters? I have no sock that i see, are these meant to keep heat in the filter systems?

Lols, I dont think even aFB can save my HRV ;-p

a lot of relieved people in warriors circles. a fan favourite that is for sure. he has grown to new heights with them, going from being a 20 min prop to 70mins some games and im sure he could complete a game if he had too.

that is one of the main reasons he is so loved with us, its a rarity. He doesnt seem to have lost any size either. Still ultra nimble with his stepping game (for such a big man) and he runs a good line which is why he scored so many tries (for a prop) this season, SJ could rely on putting him through a hole.

Wolf is not only a good dude so they say, but would hes an excellent coach who the Warriors were clearly keeping in mind. anyway, is perspective as aFB's coach with Tonga. But not a lot more insight other than its a genuine one, which I assumed given how well the Warriors are travelling and what a huge part hes played in that, with next year looking even more likely. Im sure when he is ready he will give his own insight to what sounds a bit of a complex personal situation.

Hope the Warriors can do some outside the norm things to assist him during his period of decision making.
