BS penalty holding down Fafita, we put him on his back so we owned the right to slow it down, dominant tackle.

Warriors defense holds up, but many times these rubbish ref calls lead to tries. The best refs are the ones who dont blow their whistle. In 4min the ref has blown his whistle EIGHT times.

Edit: good take Kosi, confident booster that one. Crowd is overwhelmingly Warriors chants, similar to when they play Bris at Suncorp.

Edit: Then Kosi does a DWZ and goes for the ball not the player and lets the Titans in.

Edit: Terrible defense from the Warriors, completely flat on offense as well. Cant see that turning around.

Edit: What the.... Ford has no separation there, that was a try by the current rule book.

Edit: This is embarrassing, Warriors #1 against line breaks, that try makes it 9-0 to the Titans. Warriors have no intensity, no line breaks, no offense. To be fair this is the best Id say the Titans have played in their history. 95% completions, 9 line breaks, defense stopping any line breaks. Simply awesome from the Titans.

Worst game ever. Slow, lethargic, disinterested. Seems 2024 is either 10/10 performance or a 2/10, today was 0/10

Forget the top 8 if we are going to be this erratic. It was like they were having beers at 2am as its an easy 2 points against the bottom team. Obviously not, but my god.

No Excuses. From being team that every commentator was coming on and praising, now its the opposite. Embarrassing.

I would seriously look at betting on them this week. It was discussed on a NRL betting podcast I follow.

Round 5 Souths v Warriors - Warriors were underdogs and won 34-4

Round 6 Warriors v Manly - Warriors were favs and drew 22 all

Round 7 Dragons v Warriors - Warriors were favs and lost 30-12

Round 8 Warriors v Titans - Warriors were big favs and lost 24-27

Round 9 Knights v Warriors - Warriors were favs and lost 14-8

Round 10 Roosters v Warriors - Warriors were underdogs and lost 38-18

Round 11 Warriors v Panthers - Warriors were underdogs and won 22-20

Round 12 Warriors v Dolphins - Warriors were underdogs and won 24-20

Round 14 Cowboys v Warriors - Warriors were underdogs and won 12-42

Round 15 Warriors v Storm - Warriors were favs and lost 24-38

Round 16 Titans v Warriors - Warriors were favs and lost 66-6

On that pattern they beat the Broncos this week because they will definitely start as underdogs

Who knows, betting scandal?? :-)

Actually makes more sense than anything else. I watch sport, individual players can have an off game for mental or physical reasons. Not in a whole team. Play a blinder this week means they are not professionals. This team has shown great attack, great defense, speed and great innovation in 2023. Recently half the star players were out, they won as they have depth. If they play poor again, fine, if they play a blinder, I will be losing interest rapidly as it bordering on fake

I feel the same Bro. But ive seen teams in worse positions than us go on a rampage and win the damn premiership. Out of nowhere, looking like losers, just like we are after that loss, to go on, make top 4 and win the big match.

We far from out. But we are just not effective at planting the ball over the stripe and we have gone from #one in completions and #one in line break defense, to looking very rubbish last week.

It could be the kick up the arse we need, to be sooooo humiliated, in front of what was effectively a NZ crowd.

That embarrassment can turn players savage on intensity, which we desperately need.

SJ out for another month with this achillies hes had issues ever since he snapped it, flares up. It might be his time.

I really liked TMM at 7, I really think RTS would make an amazing 6, yeh he makes a good centre, but so does Pompey and Berry. CNK and CHT to some extent showed what a difference a five-eigth at soeed with a step can do for that position, highly dangerous as the shape is drifting out wide, bang, RTS double pumps and rockets off a mean left step into space, over the line. He has the size that makes a 6 real dangerous close to the line, not to mention his ball skills and footwork and some speed. I just think having one of your top 3 players sitting out in centre is a waste. Unless they a Berry or Latrell Mitchell sized centre. We have the young man always listed in first grade reservees in Ali. So we not shott of centres, but we are short of X factor in the halves.

Sucks to have these kind of injuries that SJ has.

But, we still only one win off being back in the 8, oddly enough. That one point for the Manly draw I think is going to come in as good as a win.

Broncos are struggling too, and Id be surprised if all their SoO Qld players will back up. I sure hope our two do. another sell out at Mt Smart, should be a ripper if we bounce back from that embarrassing defeat.

Warriors are $3.75 to make the 8. Good odds if your confident

Id have thought they would be higher with two losses and one being equal worst ever, plus no SJ for 4 weeks, the aussies really rate SJ and think hes the key in the Warriors, which if he was performing as the top Half in the NRL as last year I would agree. I think he truely is being impacted by some old man injuries, meanng as you age those niggles stick around and an achilles along with the ongoing quad plus the recent pec injury, you can understand Webby wanting the best SJ and investing that much more time in helping him get truely fit.

add to that the players suspended and players in and out of the team due to origin. I am surprised its that low. Certainly lower than 30 man squads we have had in the passed would get in this current situation.

They are going to have to find a win in their next two games or ideally beat both regardless of not having an ideal 17+4 man squad.

BIG SoO game tonight. I hope Edwards carves the Qldr's up, he is such an unexpecting look NRL top tier FB, but he is. Then you have Latrell, for me him in the centres he can do anything.

Thats who Ali Leiataua reminds me of potentially for the Warriors. In NSW cup, he looks like a young Latrell Mitchell. imo we have an X factor winger sitting in the +4 week in week out, not getting a game. He need quality FG time to live up to his potential. Id personally play him over Pompey, but Pompey has been good. Its a tough investment, but we have had the right players out to be able to give ali the time to shine. Such a brute force player who has lightning pace and good footwork and a great offload.

anyway, back to SoO, its sad Cleary is not even going to be ready for game 3. You really need NSW's best 7 playing. But playing with 13 not 12 and Latrell and Dylan Edwards in, also Mitch Moses in as second best NSW half. Connor Watson I think will play in 14, good 6 but can play centre. I think it will be a good game. Up the Blues :-)

I am looking forward to the Warriors game this Saturday.  SJ being out is a good thing - We have won games without SJ and then lost when he came back...  Its like the opposition knows how the warriors play now, knows how SJ plays, so its time for something different...  IMO there is only one team we cant seem to beat and thats the Storm, otherwise we can win against every other team in the competition..
The Broncos secret weapon -Reece Walsh is no 18 at the moment, so thats one less problem.
Top 8 is still in reach if we win every game from now to the end of the season, which is doable.

Up The Wahs!

Interesting

How I read this is that the TAB see the top 6 teams (odds) as locked in. Bottom 6 team odds as locked out, leaving  Raiders, Warriors and Dragons vying for the last two places with Dragons, Bunnies and Knights close-ish

TAB has Warriors at 8th odds so the $3-75 is not bad odds, "assuming" the world worst shocker last weekend automagically turns into sound performances here on in

That game still has me annoyed and in disbelief, no excuses.

What a game last night from the mighty Blues

Latrell, Moses and Dyl Edwards really turned it on, their inclusions was brilliant. That tackle by by Latrell where he almost did an Utimate Warrior lifting the player up in the air, looked like he was going to slam the player back down 3 feet deep into the surface but in the end decided not to, the old Latrell would have. Even though it would have been a legit tackle, with how terrible the refs are at the moment I think it was a good idea, that and as well as if he got the body slam wrong with the extra force it could have been a send off. as it was it was still brutal enough.

Zac Lomax, I so wish the Warriors could attract him. Hes really matured into a high end player.

a new high score for a half record 34-0. I think prior was qld 21-0, so I don' think this total drubbing will be beaten for a while. I think the kiwi coach did the wrong thing by asking NSW to concentrate on soley defense and stopping Qld from scoring. I think they were highly unlikely to do achieve that, I think a better idea would have been to tell them to do on with it. a 60-18 defeat would have had as much if not more of a psychological blow going into the Suncorp decider.

NSW were just incredibly destructive and Moses at 7 pulled off all the right plays at the right times. The Blues looked a lot better with Latrell and Edwards imo, Tedesco reached his peak a few seaons back, hes reliable, but nowhere near as much of a freak on offense as Edwards who made Walsh look tragic for Qld.

Yep, another sell out. at Mount Smart. I think our SoO players will have no problems as neither were in the 17, which sucks losing them only to have them not play. Im a bit over SoO interfering with Reg season, its always been a bug bare. I think they should instead shorten reg season, then play SoO during Rep season, prior to the Tri series.

SJ is clearly not physically up to it right now, he is not running like he did in his best season last year. His kicking game is nothing special, as Ive mentioned before we have players with a longer clearing kick and CHT has the most accurate bomb distance/timing. I do hope SJ returns, able to put on trust on his achilles. He can be and has been the best player and half back in the game, but just game management and kicks (clearing/bomb) are not enough. Unless he comes back 100% and running the ball, this could be his last season. I also dont think either TMM or CHT are good enough to play the most important position in the game, dont get me wrong they will carry on with a good showing, but nothing like Moses for NSW last night.

It an odd table this year at this point, technically nobody is locked in, the Storm have lost 3 but have had some nail biters including the last second 1/1000 type wins over us. At the other extreme the team playing the best offensive footy and MILES ahead of any other Team, the Roosters, have lost 6. They also have comfortably the best for and against differential in the top 4. Conversely the Sharks are not really at the same level as the other 4, yet they were also not in their Premiership season.

Im not convinced by the Dolphins at 5 with 8 wins, Cowboys the same (but down the ladder as they still have another bye), Manly with 7 Wins and the draw, then a whole bunch on 7 wins, then us with 6 wins and one point for the draw, which is why last weeks win would have had us up at 6th.

From all that you can say its the tightest comp in a very long time.

The extra point in effect is as good as a win in many scenarios. So the Warriors are obviously far from out of 8 contention, even if they lose this game. But winning this game and another couple, will make things a whole lot less difficult.

RTS is back but Berry is still out so Pompey retains his spot. DWZ back in with two of our best forwards in Barnett and Capewell.

CHT to 6 TMM back to 7. The bench is full of Small forwards though with Lussick in there being unnecessary and personally Ive not been happy wit Tevaga's perfomances. Id be putting Tom Ale in to replace one of them, so we have a big forward interchange. Dyl Walker at 14 off the bench is handy experience that can play literally any position. Capewell the last off the bench clearly a very experienced international player.

Essentially without SJ performing to the insane levels he was last year, and an odd exclusion of a big forward interchange, the team is about as good as we can expect. There is more than enough skill and class in this side to beat any team, they just need to turn up with 80 mins of intensity.

I also hope these afternoon showers hold off or dont land on the pitch, it would be nice to have a high speed game and low error count with the ball not being a bar of soap. :-)

Round 12 Warriors v Dolphins - Warriors were underdogs and won 24-20

If you throw in the 4 games that were within 8 points win or lose in the early rounds, we have had an awful lot of close wins and losses. Just the one blow out loss us last week and a couple of very solid wins for us (Bunnies was good, but beating Cowboys convincingly showed our potential). That 9 from 15 rounds. Its obvious earlier in the season the piling casualty ward was making thing exceedingly more difficult. I thought by round 14 when Niukore was due back with the other 9 injuries just prior, we would kick on from there. To be fair its been one game since then with the bye, then last week no exscuses, we did have 5 key players out for various reasons. What Im getting at, its just been such an unsettled season, despite this we have been behind many a time to scrap it out and either get close or win it along with a draw. From those scrappy 9 games we won 5 and drew 1, given the circumstances that is good stuff. Of curs we should have won the Melb game and a the first Titans game we should have Iced at home.

So I think if anything that money being quite low for a team performing as we have is an indication of just how tight the comp is this year, and the NZ and aussie punters think with this team closer to full fitness and more settled, on paper along with our performance kicking in this time last year, we have a good chance of making it.

I still believe, even without SJ. I do think though we need to find someone fleet footed like the Titans have signed from touch rugby like SJ, they all said he was too small. Is amazing what a few seasons of plyometric weight training can do. You only have to look at the calves and wrists to know they are jacked up skinny bunny rabbits. I did think Metcalf would show more footwork, he showed pace. It would be nice to throw him on the wing and every set go coast to coast (side to side) as a lot of teams who dont have great forwards do, which due to teams playing compressed defense, when coming back to his side, a bullet pass or even a well timed kick, would see him with a gap large enoug for him to burn his opponents. We will see how he goes back at 6 once that leg fracture has healed. We dont need such a player at 7, either or, we need a dynamic running back who keeps the opposition guessing.

Next year we swap last years best prop Fonua-Blake for the current thrice defending champions and NZ captain James Fisher Harris. If you are going to lose aFB you would want to get someone like JFH. one of the top 3 props with Haas being the other, who we did make a play for before afb signed. It would be nice to have a couple of them in the same team haha.
