TY SJ, that was standing up in big moments all game long.

This is more like the team we wanted all year but the injuries said no. But even so not finishing with SOOO many opportunities not capitilised is the summary of the season with 8 games a try and under plus a draw plus the game the refs decided by missing the head high in front of the posts (ironically also against the doggies who took RTS out last week). Coulda shoulda been in the top 4.

Walker with those penalties I thought had thrown the game away.

So, that is Ali Lieataua, told ya hes a freak centre, barn storming runs with strength, dont argues and speed. He has to play but so does CNK/RTS/Tuaupiki, then we have some big young boppers in the forwards who will play.

Montoya imo showed what a great backrower he could be with his aggressive runs and size.

Come on SJ, one more year, play a full uninjured season like last year and we would be very hard to beat. We need someone who is going to convert getting to the 20m into points. Could be TMM.

I just hope that win has shaken off a cursed year like ive not seen at any team injury wise. and again, shoulda iced those 9 close games regardless of epic injury count.

SJ playing in Vegas just sounds right haha, one more year..... No, a brilliant way to finish a career. Going to miss him but should see him around.

Really happy to see Johnson go out on a high. He’s been a great player and and good guy.

I’m so glad he came back for the last couple of years. He wanted to play for the Warriors and he was a credit to rugby league in New Zealand.

Frustrating Warriors couldnt just win 3 more games with the one point for the draw would have seen them in the 8, just when the team was back to health.

Looking forward to tonights game, may as well be the Grand Final with arguably the two best teams. Roosters mid season just went on and on with form and ended up the Offensive team to fear, conversely the Panthers are typically the top defensive team this year.

If ya going to watch one game this weekend, on replay even, its this one.

As always NRL finals are such huge games. Penrith and storm
Showing their premiership potential.

For me the two best games were the 2 sudden death games. Cowboys battled hard and came
Away with the result. The game tonight omg I really thought the doggies did enough but Manly never say die. Incredible weekend of football. Bring on next weekend

Sorry missed this. Yep hes gone. To be fair he has not been used to his potential for a long time. We have needed better quality centres to feed our wings, knowing when to pass or when to dummy and step back inside. Too late for Montoya but we have it with RTS and young gun Ali Leiataua. Patrick MoiMoi is there too, but for me on Montoyas side (prior to leaving) Ali is going to be our next break through youngster.  He is so strong, breaks so many tackles, has a mean step and some pace, a vicious stiff arm, but he also runs really good angles to either Draw and pass to set his wing up for Try or step back inside and through with footwork and that ferocious dont argue. Im hoping Pompey is relegated to NSW Cup, Montoya was just not getting the amount of ball he deserved.

In saying that, hes not overly quick. and this is where Id get radical and place Metcalf on the wing outside Lieataua's magic, Metcalf with half a gap is gone and no FB is going to stop him. Its an obvious amount of long range tries to me.  But hey, Im not coach.

SJ comes out of short lived retirement to fill in for  some of our top Kiwi halves injured. Im secretly hoping a win over aus might convince him to return for Warriors 2025, I know its not going to happen but one can have hope. Such a good team next year but needs him to fill it to potential.

anyway Kiwis vs Kangaroos 6:05pm NZT TONIGHT.

Very interesting Kiwis Squad. Some might not be famiiar with. Great to CNK playing 6, he runs so hard at the line, I think SJ could have a lot of set plays together.

High quality side, just not what we were all expecting. Keano Kini at FB will be fascinating. Electric, very similar to a young SJ but at FB. He  had epic season for GC.

Oh my gorgeous anthems. and one of the best Hakas Ive seen in union or league for long time. asako crying during anthems. Lots of emotion in this one.

Enjoy, lets hope SJ avoids being targeted and calves them up.

wt heck, no call for obstruction, that was a clear penalty.

But NZ desent after winning the penalty after tackled in the air.

Edit: That was amateur from angus chricton lol

Edit: I get nervous when I see the aussies put Tommy Turbo into space of any size.

Edit: SJ finally gets his line right, then just quality passing.

Ref could have penalized aus 7 times, but is just letting it go.

Fisher-Harris is dominating in the tackle players bouncing off him, so glad we got him for the Warriors next year.

Edit: Tom Turbo in space again sets up a try. Too good.

Edit: OMG Klein is against NZ. that was not crowding, Barnett lost it before placing it on ground. Thats BS reffing,

Zac Lomax is such a strong edge player with good ball skills. ali Lieataua is very similar so hoping to see him play minutes and given a chance as a starting player at Centre.

SJ has been brilliant. NZ just dont have the backline connectivity.

Very high quality game. This is why there is a call for putting internationals at the pinnacle. NRL is absurdly long now with so many teams, just play each other once and rotate Home advantage each year. Put Origin in the middle with a month off NRL, then put the international Comp early October but pump it up like they do with Origin. This is higher quality than most SoO.

Edit: World class defense by NZ.

Edit: Flap, you do not let Dylan Edwards continue running, put the shoulder in immediately, he is one of the top 5 players in the game for that reason.

Rikki just trying to hard. Hes a quality player for Bris, Id like the Warriors to poach him.

Fantastic game.

Given NZ have really only just gotten together I can understand why there was a problem with Offensive Cohesion. Stacy will get that together this week and put it on vs Tonga next week and may peak in the final VS aussie team.

Shaun Johnson, seriously stop this retirement business, he was sensational as the General of the team. So frustrated he didnt put those cross field kicks  to the winger more with the Warriors. You get a high quality winger one on one and they should score.

Brilliant game despite the score.

NZ play Tonga tomorrow, 8pm our time to see Haka's and if we make it to final to play aus again next week with more experience together next week.

Warriors sign Gold Coast Titans halfback Tanah Boyd on two-year contract

I think this is a great signing, but still think RTS should have converted to #6 to play running HB, he would create so many holes and long distance tries in that position.

Somehow we Have to make room in the Warriors next year for our X Factor players.

Ive been saying for a long time we need X-Factor on the left edge, as good or better than DWZ on the right.

Josh Addo-Carr has been sacked by the bulldogs,  have no news of him accepting elsewhere but he is exactly the type of player we need on our left edge, provided he keeps clean during our Reg season. But I think Im wishing.

Inside the system it might be a bit early for Tongan Sio Kali but I hope he gets some early exposure at 19yo.

But both Tuaupiki and Metcalf have the speed and X-Factor to turn half chances into long range tries on the wing. We got plenty of Halves so if Metcalf is not our 6, then use him on wing. Gotta use your best players wherever you can fit them. We got contention for that left wing spot who can create  gap for such a speedster. My opnion is Lieataua is the man for the position but had to argue against Rocco-Berry who was crazy good before his injury. There is also Pompey and Moimoi, but I see them in RG/NSW cup for either of our wings possibly behind whoever of the two I mentioned do not make Starting or Match Reserve position.

Exciting times seeing next years Warrior and Kiwi Captain, replacement to Fonua-Blake, James Fisher-Harris ripping into the aussie players and again tomorrow night vs Tonga.

This should be a cracker to interrupt the Cricket tonight with the Kiwis vs Tonga.

Im hoping both perform Haka, that was an epic one from Kiwis last week. Tonga are not to be taken lightly, some quiality players in their team. Look at the list of high quality players for Tonga including recently left Warrior Fonua-Blake.

Kiwis v Tonga XIII - Week 3, 2024 - Match Centre | NRL.com

8pm or maybe a scratch earlier to watch both anthems and both Haka.
