Pity. I liked his tech eye for details, but his dithering is a bit annoying.  Karun is good, I like Alex Jacques

Anyone taking an interest in testing?   The word subplots" has been mentioned a lot, and its true, there will be a lot going on this year. Testing wise, nothing much to see, but background commentary is good

Am enjoying the summaries, but have not been following very closely as it's all testing of components rather than overall package at this stage.
Melbourne will be the great reveal.

Yep. The times mean nothing. The cars are reliable so Ferrari's extra laps are not that meaningful. The teams will ramp up a bit next test, but even then, you wont know anything till Q3 Melbourne for the big 3. The other teams Q1 and 2

Yeah my heart will sink if Mercedes rolls out and smashes the leader boards.

Long periods at the front aren't uncommon in F1 (Schumacher Ferrari era for example) but Mercedes has been top of their game for a very long period now.

It would be nice to see people fighting for a win at the front (3 or more teams ideally) rather than a predicktable result and the good action being squabbles for 4th - 10th down below.

It might happen

Ferrari blew it last year, at some tracks they had the best car, and can manage tyres better. Anything wrong a RBR will pick up the pieces, and Honda engine is not bad now, so they must be ahead even just on that. Cross fingers it has compressed right up. On rare occasions the grid stacked up for a great race, then as usual after turn 1, some of them crash out, spectacle over

Now I am wracking my brain to figure out what this is, but getting nowhere, its now driving me mad. Any further hints? or do I need to send you a PM?

if your talking about the ffmpeg issues with the aac audio in his files, hes not going to re-encode it this year.

or if you are asking where is this weeks testing, it aint coming. no sky coverage. apparently they were only doing on air coverage of test 1

That will be it, bugger. It was a success I am sure, although it was 90% banter, but still good

2 weeks to go. Indycar starts in a week, 5 ex F1 drivers and one ex GP3 or F1 (Ferucci)

Should be worth a watch if Alonso's car is competitive.
