the only way for max to win the title is Perez take out Lewis. I can't see LH not winning the last 3 races unfortunately.
Batman:
Well the way I see it is max wins we have a great season next year, if Lewis wins he retires as a god and we won't have to see him again next year!
Ummmm, ok. Irregardless of the result and bias, we had a competitive race that you rarely see, and between two cars that can run the same lap time but are so different. 3rd team two pitstops behind. Excellent stuff
Batman:
agree. as much as i don't like LH, he is the most decorated racer ever for a reason and i respect that. as much as i don't like roger federer, his abilities never fail to impress me - no one else comes close.
Cough cough, Oh my giddy Aunt, as my nana would have said.
Roget has the same tools as everyone else, I'll let you figure out the rest...
Jaxson:
I hope the 2022 regs really do achieve a closer racing outcome. Whilst normally the field should have condensed by now, it's now what 7 years of merc dominance and still only one team this year is close to them. It's not Hamilton's fault his gear is so good, but I'm fully backing anyone who gets close. I think it's good for any sport to not have too much of a good thing, so was happy to see the recent All Blacks rugby result for example. That's good for the sport.
I see it a bit different. The rest have condensed, but together, not up front only RBR has closed the gap. My concern is next year no matter what team, one team will start the season, nailing the beta car more than anyone else, and it will take time to catch up. 7 years for the last iteration. Having said that, I think the top four teams will be closer than the 2 second gap from 2014.

Fair call, they are all powerful tracks. Max is 14 ahead, Lewis would catch that with two wins. Max finishes ahead in one of the three races that's a problem for Lewis as races run out. I reckon RBR will trade off grip for speed with a lower rear wing. But that depends on the nuances of the tracks. Like Suzuka, be in front for the three S's you build ahead for the straight, they tyre of thing. A high strategy game now. Lewis needs 3 wins, max needs 1 (assuming 1-2's)

Assuming LH gets zero fastest lap
I'm certain I saw a massive speed difference about two laps before Hamilton pass Verstappen. Hamilton was doing 335kmh through the speed trap, Verstappen was doing 305kmh!

It was apparently 5kph with no DRS, 20kph with both having DRS and if anyone had battery charged, more again. End of the day the slower car has managed somehow to lead the Drivers and be almost equal on the Constructors. Perez slow start to 2021 hampered that significantly as was his not being in the mix early on for strategy. Very much a David and Goliath on paper but the standings are impressive.

Fastest lap is not very doable if its a two horse race like last weekend and you can't take a late stop for Reds.

I hear you, and likes of Netflix Survive to Drive supports that, in that the drama is all mid field where the pack has condensed.
Reality though is we've had one team for 7 years in a different class, with only a few of those years throwing up a potential competition (Ferrari tried one season, much like Red Bull is now).
I don't think there is any other choice than to try another mix up again, this time with aero changes etc specifically intended to allow for closer following/less downforce loss when behind another car etc. Yeah there's a risk of history repeating, but for the good of the sport we can't go on with predicktable seasons like we've had. Right now everyone is just praying for rain to level the field and spice things up.
Yep. The issue is its a Constructors Championship. In that respect, the last 7 years were 100% perfect, the best constructor with the best car won. But the fans like to see drivers racing, and they dont get that, they see people driving Constructor cars. Some formulas (cars, bikes) have same engine series, where the vast majority of the result is the driver and setup
It comes across like Mercedes have been taking the mickey the whole season with that performance. Lewis's car was on another level. Hard to see how RB can win from here with the type of tracks remaining. Maybe time for Perez to return the favour and put Lewis in the wall, as that seems to be the correct way to win a championship now? 😬

The track suited a higher hp car, new engine, DRS is big there. other tracks RBR shines, but yes, if the last 3 tracks are power tracks, its a slam dunk more than likely. Best engine won, thats it. Drivers not that relevant
