So players need to avoid TA as they and do their own due diligence even tho TA host the tournament and are advising players? ok
Apparently Novak has been let out of the detention center to watch proceedings.
But the BBC says it won't be at his lawyers offices as they have a no vaccination, no entry policy....
not to lawyers but to some unnamed premises?
"The respondent, by her servants or agents, including the Australian Border Force, take all steps and do all things as may be necessary to bring the applicant to premises as specified by the applicant's solicitors on Monday, 10 January 2022 (and each day thereafter, including upon the delivery of judgment), to permit him to remain there until the conclusion of each hearing and to secure his safe return to detention upon the conclusion of each hearing," the order reads.

I figure he will play as its others that led him up the garden path. Its easy to focus on his vaccine stance and hes not like Rafa or Roger, but at the end of the day he should have been told he is not eligible for quarantine free, so he can do MIQ or not come
Yup, like you, I think it's easy to get caught up in the fact he can be unlikeable, and that people disagree with his anti-vaccination mandate stance, but as you say, he was told by a party he should have been able to trust he could play and spent money and travelled to do so accordingly.
If he doesn't get to play TA should compensate him for his expenses if it's found it is their fault.
At the end of the day if he spent time in the quarantine hotel, gives a negative covid test, arrives to the arena, warms up, plays and then goes straight home and doesn't have contact with people up close, his risk to the public is pretty minimal. Not nil, but minimal.
I don't really care for the guy, and have no vested interest in whether he plays or not, nor do I agree with his position on vaccinations, but as far as I can tell from the media releases to date, he has done what was asked of him.
Google date search is great
Not the first time TA has oopsied. Do they're on a losing streak this time around again and would have been hoping to redeem or save face

As @Batman stated earlier it seems to be TA and the Victorian Govt who are at fault, thats how the exemption was arranged. I assume the Victoria State Govt manage the border, but if its the national Government, you would think that the State Government would have some knowledge of border entry at their border??? If you can't take their word, whose can you take?? If its found that the TA/Govt dropped the ball, no need to deport him, BUTTTT he will still need to follow the rules, and from what I gather completing MIQ may be too late, maybe not by much, not sure on that. TA can get themselves in more trouble by getting him in, somehow, they do that. Roger's schedule was changed one year so he can play indoors out of the heat.
IMO its likely he was misled, thus travelled here. if thats the case, not his direct fault, but for safety's sake he cant play unless he does the MIQ stint, if thats too late its too late. But the feeling here for some posts is a trial by public opinion.

Victoria State Government manages the border. They gave the exemption status to TA as I understand.

They manage the state border.
To land in Australia and get through the airport you have to be cleared by the federal government.
Many of the intricacies of this court case are going to be totally lost on the average person who doesn't understand Australian state vs federal politics and who controls what.

Agree. Myself included. End of the day a non quarantine exemption was granted in error, thats how I see it

I said back on page 1 when he was given the weekend that it was local vs federal where the issues arose as the left hand wasn't talking to the right properly ;)

You did!
Seems a bit of white noise at the moment. His lawyers say he was not treated fairly. Not really relevant, well, unless he was denied rights. Govt says no one is guaranteed to get entry, also not relevant. All that is relevant is who gave the exemption and was that in a way that any reasonable person would take that as correct. Need to wipe away the face saving and see the law applied, and who was at fault, and what is the remedy, either way.
more detailed explanation of the court case (despite the title)
visa cancellation overturned by judge but Minister informs judge she reserves the right to exercise ministerial power to cancel his visa (again)
Caught the last of the live feed. Judge Kelly seemed to release Djokovic within 30 minutes. Then the representative of the respondent, the Minister, advised that he will exercise his power to cancel the Visa. Judge seemed miffed that he isnt getting advance knowledge. Seems the Minister will get his way and exit Djokovic. No doubt another interim injunction will happen.

Seems a power play about a problem that should not have happened, rather than about Covid or a tennis player.
