Jaxson: Fastest lap shootout attempt Lawson va Perez will be interesting.
Did they quote the fastest lap time that Liam and Checo got?
Fiesty Liam lol
At least he wont be seen as being a rollover given he is new. Dunno why the agro? Maybe putting a potential very good competitor in his place? Maybe Checo implying he isn't much good (for his seat)?
Just finished watching the race, and post-race on F1TV.
I know I'm biased as a Kiwi and therefore a supporter of Lawson, but thought he drove a good race under the circumstances. Thought the hard compound was the right play, but the early safety car stuffed up any opportunity to maybe build a lead to get a pit stop in and come back out in the points. Great to see him running in 4th place at one point though.
Perez -- cheated off the line to begin with, driving like he's desperate to save his career. It's not like he hasn't had form for this the past two seasons. Finds himself at the back of the grid because he can't drive a quick car fast enough, then tries to barge his way through the field like he's in a stock car at Western Springs. Totally deserved a penalty for the grid box infraction, should have been penalised for driving Lawson off the track, and totally deserved the finger from Lawson as he drove past. Ironic that he called Lawson an idiot, look in the mirror Checo. As Lawson said on radio, "Is he f****ng serious!"
Colapinto -- totally deserved his penalty, obviously went to the Perez/Stroll school of driving. Just tried to barge back onto the track right in front of Lawson after he out-braked himself trying to overtake. Stuffed Lawson's car in the process. Watched him try to justify what happened in the post-race, somehow suggesting it was Lawson's fault. Who got awarded the 10-second penalty again? Yeah, nah.
Stroll -- just doing what Stroll does every other week.
Disappointed for Lawson, there was an opportunity for points but events didn't play out in his favour.
Good result for Sainz, happy for him to secure another win before he departs Ferrari.

Thanks for that. 3/10 behind. With a RBR that from the Max perspective is always there even though that car is not there. VCARB can earn a point if lucky, maybe two.
Checo calling him an idiot. Good with that. Liams 2023 adventures, last minute, hadn't raced in 2 or 3 of those tracks. Same deal now, yet he matched Yuki who dod really well this weekend. There is w wide gulf between Liam and Yuki, wider with Checo. He is out performing what he should be offering.
Bias?? Yes, but what I see is factual. I really like Brundle, he is a Brit but he much less biased that the other Brit commentators. He sees Liam with Max 2025. Same comment last weekend.
I was happy to see the two Mercs racing. Great defensive driving from George (on the old spec aero from Silverstone) and patience from Lewis (on the latest Mexico aero updates). Looks like much more downforce from the Mexico updates but a lot more drag than the Silverstone package. Real battle between them. I hope they use the extra wind tunnel time to make next year's car killer fast.

Lawson has done himself no favours last weekend, finished last, and destroyed Sergio's car to make sure RBR does not score with their 2nd car.
A downcast figure in the paddock post race so i read, apparently got told off my Marko and Horner.

Point of fact, Perez finished last of the finishers in attempting to secure fastest lap for Red Bull.
From the commentary I've seen on his race, the views have been mixed on Lawson's race. Scott Mitchell-Malm on the most recent The Race Podcast suggested that Horner's comments when interviewed on Sky F1 about it and failing to publicly support Perez's version of the incident was, in essence, supporting Lawson. Horner's lack of public support for Perez "speaks volumes" according to Mitchell-Malm.
Likewise, YouTuber LawVS thought Lawson's hard-charging style may have been appreciated by Marko though I see The Doctor's come out overnight and made comments about not racing the "sister team". Lawson did let Verstappen straight through so perhaps it is less about reckless driving by Lawson and more about stupid attempted overtakes in the wrong place by Perez. Afterall, this is the guy who destroyed his car down to the survival cell thinking he could slip up the inside at Monaco.
As I said in my previous comments when he finds himself under pressure Perez panics and starts driving like he's the only car on the road, attempting overtakes on corners where he has no business being. Perez was/is his own worst enemy in this. Should have bided his time and attempted the move on the main straight under DRS. But this is the guy who said there is "zero chance" he won't be in the car in 2025 and racing again at Mexico. He's Trump-level delusional.
Anyway, Lawson's apologised for flipping the bird to Perez and he wouldn't want to make a habit of it, I agree to that extent. But, end of the day, stewards reviewed his driving and found no penalty was warranted in the incidents he was involved in.
also remember Yuki's car had all the new updates added to his car for the race and Liam will be getting them for the next race so will be interesting to see the results
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Every race weekend the commitment of Horner to Checo, fades and fades. Mexico race weekend is over..........
Who really knows what seems to be going on in the Red Bull empire driver decision making machine (I am picturing something Rube Goldberg-esque that also drives Dr Marko's "who to offend today" processes).
Personally I don't think Liam did himself a lot of favours this weekend. Consensus view seems to be that Yuki isn't in contention for an RBR drive, at least in part due to his temperament. There's a fine line between hot headedness and tough, elbows out racing, but I feel like banging wheels with a stablemate and flipping the bird isn't on the right side of that fine line.

When I read articles what Checo said, and if I hadn't seen any races or news for 2 weeks, my opinion would be that Liam is all over the place and continually causing incidents. having seen these races that's not my opinion
Brundle said it was 60% Liam and 40% Checo. Liam hasn't had any penalties. Colapinto got a penalty in the incident with Liam. Alonso, well he got hassled and passed by a kid, so he was grumpy
