johno1234: Couple of biological males in the women's boxing. Things have gone way too far.

The allegations never made sense to me. Algeria particularly largely traditional and conservative in that sense it would be so unlikely. Wikipedia can say the rest:

Wikipedia: Following Khelif's victory over Italy's Angela Carini during the 2024 Olympic Games, misinformation surfaced on social media about her gender. False assertions about her gender were fuelled by Khelif's disqualification from the 2023 Women's World Boxing Championships, organised by the Russian-led International Boxing Association (IBA), after she allegedly failed unspecified gender eligibility tests. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its Paris Boxing Unit stated Khelif was eligible to compete in the Olympics, and criticized the IBA's previous disqualification as "sudden and arbitrary" and taken "without any due process". No medical evidence that Khelif has XY chromosomes or elevated levels of testosterone has been published. Khelif was born female and identifies as female.

Khelif has been defeated nine times in her career. Born female. Female all her life.

hope Noah Lyles (USA alpha sprinter) learnt something

he taunted everybody in the 200m and told his competitors by the time he got round the bend to the home straight he's gonna leave everybody for dead coz nobody's going to get near him

unfortunately in the actual race by the time he got round the bend he contracted covid and got nowhere near winning

he later had to drop out of the 4x100 and his replacement completely stuffed up the baton exchange and US was 2nd last before getting DQ-ed

Noah then posted on social media whether people supported him or not, he hoped he had been good entertainment

I'd argue that any "sport" that has subjective scoring shouldn't be there personally - but then by my own logic golf (not a sport!) would be in, and gymnastics (which is amazing to watch) would be out.

It was scrapped again some time ago and won't feature in 28. So one hit wonder attempt to widen the audience,.as with snoop.

Hmmm, tricky choice now for the Supreme Halberg Award.

Lisa or Lydia.

While both Lisa and Lydia deserve the award it should go to Lydia based on the number of people playing golf in the world.

Just my 2c worth but both women are winners no matter what.

I don't see any lessons to be learned here. He got sick. If he wasn't sick what would it have looked like.

He still won. He's still an exceptional athlete. He was still entertaining.

For Consistency and Longevity, it's comfortably Carrington.

Ko was excellent, she managed to hold her nerve.

I wouldn't be upset by either winning.

Think Carrington and Ko will carry the flag at the closing ceremony if they're both still in Paris.

I am unsure if Carrington has carried it before, but I'd be in favour of letting our lesser known, less succesful althletes carry. We need a nod to the future.

I wonder if the break between jumps whilst the 4 x 400m relay race happened did Kerr any favours?

History will show it didn’t do him any harm! 😁
