Hi folks... On a completely unrelated topic.

Posting here instead of a dedicated thread because I want to make sure F1 enthusiasts see this.

I have one of these to giveaway (sorry, I have to review something), so reply with "Lego F1" and a short paragraph about the team you support (it doesn't have to be one in the photo).

I will select someone tomorrow afternoon. You will have the option of a Williams or McLaren Lego

I'm not entering as it would be nice to see someone else happy with a prize but I just wanted to say what a lovely thing to do @freitasm

On topic, practice 1 at 2:30pm I'll be watching at work, practice 2 at 6pm

F1 Lego

Ive been a fan of F1 for 25 years, always following McLaren because of its kiwi beginnings. This meant I went to Melbourne for 15 years in a row until Covid stopped any travel. Driver favourite changes but now it must be Liam Lawson.

that would be an ecumenical matter

Seems Max has somewhat taken the pressure off Lawson, by stating that the cars aren't quite up to scratch just yet and they aren't expecting to be competitive.

That's good, from the perspective that there's no bold prediction that they'll fly into a one-two finish or anything wild like that.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes them to be an effective team...

It is hard to go past Ferrari for me - my father and I are long-time fans from the pre-Schumacher era, and now my son has been brainwashed into this as well. He has a polar fleece Ferrari blanket he inherited from me and he sleeps under it every night. He knows Lewis is driving for Ferrari this year, and he also knows there's a boy from New Zealand "like me, daddy, I'm a boy from New Zealand." For me it is such a treat to share a passion with him now that he is older, and who knows where it might take us?

His grandmother is a McLaren fan, but I think she has accepted she has lost this battle.

I'll say. Ill be watching the recorded versions tonight. So many  angles this year, top 4 teams are compressed, Liam and Antonelli in the mix, Oscar will step up more, team rivalry except for Liam who will support Max, and Lewis v Charles

Sharp had a disappointing start to his F3 career, his car stopping on track five minutes before the scheduled end of Practice. His time had him 16th overall and the slowest of the three Rodin cars. Hopefully they will get the issue sorted out before Qualification at 4pm this arvo.

Lego F1

To this day the team bares the brunt of jokes, but Minardi were the ultimate underdog in Formula 1, that lacked the budget, the resources and often even the horsepower to truly compete. But to myself and brothers it yet somehow made them all the more lovable, as we grew up watching the prestigious sport! Year after year, they fought against the odds with passion, grit, and a deep love for racing, scraping together whatever they could to stay on the grid. They never won a race, rarely scored points, and often brought up the rear, but their never-say-die spirit and ability to punch above their weight; leading a lap in the 1989 GP - I at the time were 8 years old. I think everyone can take something from Minardi, they wasn’t just a team; they were a symbol of perseverance, and that made them special.

To this day, we always call Radio Silence as we are spread far and wide around the world. The radio silence is to not spoil the race result - but someone on the WhatsApp channel will always say, a Minardi 1 : 2 - never saw that coming.

The little things make the biggest difference.

It's McLaren for me. I've only started watching in the last 4 or 5 years (so I am ignoring history here), so to see the turnaround of this "underdog" team recently has really grabbed my attention. And Oscar just makes me laugh with his dry humour.

Lego F1

I’ve always followed drivers rather than teams. Always with a leaning towards local talent whether that’s Kiwi or Aussie drivers. This year it’s clearly Red Bull and Liam.

Whoever wins this prize is one very lucky person. I bought the McLaren kit for my father in-law at Christmas. He had great fun putting it together on Christmas Day. Was like watching a 72yr old child.

Ferrari all the way for me! Been a fan since the mid 90's. Ferrari is an icon of speed and passion, and enjoyed watching their machines 'prance' around the track. Admittedly, as the sport evolved, so did the cars and Ferrari were unable to prove excellence in the F1 space for a while now, but nonetheless, they still have my suppport.

He'll say that now, but if it rains on race day like its supposed to Max will be almost unbeatable

Grabbed a 7 day trail of premium for a laugh even though I have Sky. Its pretty average and glichy so far on chrome, it better be an improvment on my ATV4K for P2 practice.

Ive tried both Chrome and FF here at work, it does look like a 4K picture or at least very close to it. Its almost unwatchable though (which is probably my work PC).

Back to P1 on Skygo
