Once you leave Redbull you never return, Ricciardo, Gasly, Albon, Kvyat, Vettel none have ever made it back to the main team.

Liam's not going to be a Hamilton, Vettel, Verstappen. He may think he could, but he won't. Who says he needs to be a Red Bull driver?
If he suffers in RB for 6 months and get sacked, that is worse than spending a year in VCarb and maybe (performance dependant) become a Sainz, a Albon, they are still in F1, they are respected, and they get paid in a year more than we get paid in a lifetime. There are others who spent a few years in F1 and are now successful WEC drivers.
Hanging around in RB starting from the pit lane every race is worse. You become the laughing stock of the media click cash cow.
Asteros:
I am surprised that Liam has been much slower this year than Max. I was under the impression that Liam tested well in the 2024 Red Bull around Silverstone and had done extensive sim work. There must be a correlation problem here with actual racing conditions.
on page 1, post #5, i explained why he didn't have the experience needed.
he also missed over 50mins of FP3 in Australia (he'd never driven on that street converted to race track).
he missed over 50mins of the only FP in Shanghai (he'd never driven on that race track).
if veteran Perez couldn't figure out how to turn the car (that's what he said) over 2 years, it's probably what it is.
Jaxson:
Liam should have had more PR training and support.
He’s brought on a lot of this negative press on himself with the apparent arrogant attitude of I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to win races at all costs sort of approach.
Not exactly humble when you’re pulling the finger at Perez in Mexico, and clashing with Alonso - thus alienating the Spanish speaking F1 fan world etc.
Agree with this up to a point, for sure he needed to be more guarded in his public appearances and not utter so many 'controversial' sound-bites when appearing on podcasts and the like. But, in his defense, he is only a kid and does come across (to me at least) as perhaps not the biggest cog in the gearbox. I've watched a fair bit of the media he's done on the internet and he looks to be a thoroughly likeable young man overall. He's always made it very clear he understood his position within Red Bull and shown due deference to his teammate, as well as being vocal about his own level of experience and that he was there to learn, gain experience, and support the championship challenge of Verstappen.
As for all the 'smug' and 'arrogant' claims you see everywhere, well, that's just a matter of perspective IMHO. One fan's interpretation of arrogance is another's self-confidence and, let's be honest, if you comport yourself as a shy retiring wallflower in F1 then you've probably found yourself inexplicably in the wrong line of work. Being an easy going guy didn't do Norris any favours when Verstappen was running his supposed 'good friend' off the track last season. Lawson believes in himself because that's the only way you can go about this, he just hasn't been able to back it up on track so far and I'm sure most of us here don't believe that's all on him. The car is garbage. Even in the hands of Verstappen it doesn't look a race-winner and, if McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes get their act together this year, he could be fighting for P7 at best on a regular basis.

it's not Liam's fault, they should have put Tsunoda there.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Its gonna be all or nothing for Yuki. I would think this was the ultimate pressure cooker. Knowing that Lawson couldn't drive it, and having to get in and preform on your home race where every fan is watching every step. I guess he just needs to do better than last place and they will likely keep him in it. Lawson needs to beat Hajar or he will defiantly be shown the door. Brutal man, sucks for all Lawson fans, but ultimately he has a lifeline that could work out long term.
Yuki has huge Honda backing, they won't let him flounder. Japanese specials for Japanese races are a known thing (hello lightweight low-fuel qualy runs in Toyotas).
Given Lawson's technical gremlins and the lack of practice running, combined with how quickly RB seem prepared to dump him, you could be forgiven for asking if he ever actually got a decent crack at it at all.
What I bolded. Honda are not F1 CEO's, designers, race strategists. All they can add is words. Words dont make a car quicker nor do they fix the problems the RBR 20 and RBR21 have

Risky move to drop Liam so quickly (just 2 weekends). If Tsunoda is not able to perform immediately (within 2 weekends) then its looks terrible for Red Bull because everyone will now (rightly) label the car a turd. And Tsunoda wont be able to contain his radio messages - which will be fun to watch. If that happens the reputation of a lot of people at Red Bull is shot.
I see it as a move to protect Liam and remove him from the limelight and from being the target of the pack of hungry media wolves.
I see it that its driven not by CEO's, racers, designers, but by Marko and Honda, neither of which can make the car go quicker. Although the car doesnt need to go quicker as thats apparently not the issue for them. Its a clear known issue for everyone else.
Jaxson:
Red Bull look a mess here. I heard recently the Horner situation went quiet due to a judge issuing a media ban, but that’s now heading to the courts in early 2026. So that hasn’t gone away.
They’ve lost Newey now and the current designer hasn’t produced a very drivable car. Both Max and Perez struggled in later 2024, with Max winning for the most part by his early dominance and then holding on. Constructors was lost and could have easily gone Ferrari too. How long can they keep up the design traits of this current car?
New regs in 2026 and Honda moving to Aston Martin. Will Max stay if this year is poor?
If Max goes, will anybody be able to drive the car that’s left?
Agree. Im a long time RBR fan, due to Mark Webber. After that they never had the fastest car (midfield in the speed trap was a bonus) but they had the best package.
Now, its a shite show. Marko, Honda, Horner etc oblivious by design to the car issues. RBR used to be a poisoned chalice as you had to beat or be equal to Max. Not gonna happen. Now, the Marko's and the Hondas matter. Racers not so much. Feel guilty over my bagging of Perez, he and Max were the start of this downturn, and he paid. As has Liam, as they are "too slow"...

Agree. Take Rossi. Good as they all are but not great, dumped. Indy500 winner and last I looked around then he was often a contender. Makes me feel that F1 is a show, not a race series.

If they had, keeps everyone happy, Liam later gets the nod, and fails as driving too slow. Not the car of course. Max is unreal, he cant keep up either

The RBR21 No.2 car needs a pocket for the CV
The mills certainly churning. Now reading Max has been requested to skip home waiting for bubs for this meeting along with the engineer team to discuss and adjust.
You would hope it means a week of tweaks and testing opportunities for ALL of them. But can't see it. However reads like Max has his back.
tdgeek:The RBR21 No.2 car needs a pocket for the CV
Under its new management it needs recyclable parts to be clearly marked.
