Anyone able to do a test stream of any of the testing sessions with Apple TV 4k? I am getting pretty poor throughput. with the HUD overlay (https://www.howtogeek.com/409201/how-to-unlock-detailed-streaming-statistics-on-the-apple-tv/) can sometimes show a "network bandwidth" of 2mbps.

I beleive they're streaming out of cloudfront in AWS in Auckland, so it should be quick. Not sure if its their end of mine..

vexxxboy:

the elbows out episode was good to , it was interesting to see how close Liam was to max in the testing times , 2 10ths a second slower a lap than max and he hadn't been in a car for 7 months , the engineers were impressed.

Yes that was good, the rest of the series and ending was a bit too overly dramatic haha

But to add as well.

The stream quality on a wired APTV4k is running at 720p when I tested watching the 2024 Bahrain race.

I can imagine some more updates to the app in the coming days.

Finished up DTS last night, the usual "sports entertainment" or "based on a true story" caveats apply with this show. But, yeah, the Liam Lawson episode was probably the highlight from a Kiwi point of view as we all want to see the kid do well. There was some comment in the media at the time around Lawson's Silverstone test that it was somehow underwhelming, but certainly the way Netflix edited it he appeared to smash it out of the park with less than 2/10ths differential to Verstappen's time. After so long out of an F1 car that was certainly impressive.

Other than that the two things that struck most were Toto Wolff's comment about promising Hamilton he wouldn't contact Verstappen, presumably while the Brit was still driving for Mercedes. Quite telling if portrayed correctly by Netflix. The other thing was continued vilification of Christian Horner, though largely self-inflicted from what I could see. If he didn't want to be the pantomime baddie of the show, he really needs to learn how to stop making snide remarks about one and sundry while the cameras are about. Easy to understand why he is so disliked by many.

Into race week now of course, can't wait for Friday FP1, it's going to be a great season. Early reports suggesting there might be a bit of weather around on Sunday. Will be supporting Lando and Liam this year though I think Piastri is going to be a handful, especially if the McLarens are clearly the quickest cars. Potential for a bit of Prost/Senna or Hamilton/Rosberg tension in 2025.

heads up that there is a 15% discount for F1 premium at the moment using the code F1TVPremium2025 in the voucher box for new and upgrading subs.  Still no android 4K or multiview support across any devices but looks like they may have got web stuff going via Chrome - no 4k vbut multiview is present.

Warm Friday, mid 20's. Hot Saturday. Wet all day Sunday.

So, Friday GP sessions will be meaningful, but its only practice, so not so meaningful

Saturday heat will rule out Mercedes.

Sunday will suit Max and other wet happy drivers

I also see on facebook today there is a 7 day trial of premium. I already have Sky but I have an apple tv 4K and the Australian GP in 4K would be great.

Its supposed to be 37c on saturday for qualifying so VERY hot track conditions

Hit the yellow upgrade box on your account, then review the details and hit select the second upgrade box in red... it will take you to a check out page where there is a voucher box.

Thanks bud. It appears if you have signed on the '7 day trial' of the Premium, there is no more upgrade box to hit... and thus no way to enter voucher.
I have just tried this with a separate account and went the pro - of which it showed the upgrade option and voucher input.

Does this still work? I'm trying to sub to Pro and it's telling me I need to take the 7 Day Trial option and pay weekly, which I don't want to do.

E: Looks like I need the $160 to watch 4K? Nuts. I'll stick to the Sky option.

I just did it - so it still works. I chose the yearly Pro plan, and it defaulted to the 'week' free', but there is an upgrade box option
