Absolutely good points. Quite a difference between a local 3 night booze cruise and spending weeks at sea.

Parents have just begun a 'SKI' holiday with Princess Cruises that won't see them home for over two months!

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

The cruise was chosen by itinerary and it's Norwegian which should suit us as they have a more casual atmosphere according to cruisecritic expert review.

Seem to be a ton of NZ companies claiming to be cruise experts. Any other recommendations for agents?

More practical discussions is watch for the hidden costs.

Things like the cut you have to pay for the help, Gratuities from memory.

Another good point. With Princess you can have the automatic gratuities disabled. I think for NZ/AU cruises they were already disabled in the system.

This is not a cruise ex NZ/AU

With NCL you can pay gratuities and taxes upfront or onboard. The Air NZ quoted costs include them, the others do not

Some folks from Australia on the CruiseCritic forums have used overseas travel agents to access better deals than are offered in their region

I've narrowed it to two:

Cruiseabout. NZ company part of the flightcentre group. They can do Cruise + flights

CruiseVacationOutlet. US company. Can only do the cruise portion

Need to park this for now, will come back to it Sep/Oct (travel is in 2018).

Ok trying again now but will be different travel dates

CruiseVacationOutlet is cheapest (but not GST amount of -15%)

CruiseSaleFinder is a bit more

CruiseAbout is the most

Planning on booking Mon or Tue!
