I am surprised we don't have more sleeping pod setups here in nz, I am not talking about the ones in the news today that were shoved into a room but a proper setup.

I used these when I was over in Japan and I really loved them, a communal area for cooking and separate shower facility.

Just surprised there are not more full setups like this around.

I could never get in and if I did get in I doubt that I would get out. That would be messy.

Hahaha , Mate I am of a rotund nature and I found it pretty easy , you get one on the bottom so you don't have to climb up.

Well there's 4.4 million other Kiwis that it could appeal to..

Jucy has a pod hotel in Christchurch, I looked into it last week, seems reasonable at $35/night in a room of 8?

They are the only ones that I know of in nz that is why I am surprised there are not more.

So if we already have them what's the big stink about these ones - is it that they're not intended to be adhoc/holiday, and that they cost $200 a week?

Sounded like they were getting real close to breaching the hostel bylaws

Presumably you would be careful not to eat pies and beans before checking into one of these.
