Has air NZ stopped code sharing with singapore airlines? Don't find an option to choose SQ flights on the air NZ website?

Before someone slams me for wanting choice, I don't like the idea of a 15 hr stopover in AKL as the only option on the website!

I can get NZ3286 operated by SQ looking for flights on the Air NZ website between AKL-LON. What flights you get depends on the route of your journey and thus the fares that can be applied to your journey (and even whether there are seats available at all). Perhaps the route you looked at has fares that don't permit the AKL-SIN NZ flight number operated by SQ.

I see, Air NZ and SQ both have deals of their own at the moment, so maybe temporarily not "sharing" until deal ends (Monday).

Probably still cheaper to stay overnight in AKL. But not sure if I want to waste another day travelling.

Anyone knows if 787-9 is better than A380 for economy class? Read somewhere that it is.

Do you mean Singapore Airlines A380, vs Air New Zealand 787?

According to SeatGuru, the A380 has 0-1" more leg room, and greater seat width in economy. I came back on a Singapore Airlines (777-300ER) flight as it didn't make sense to pay for another night of accommodation just to come back on the 787 the following morning, even though I wanted to experience the new aircraft. I.e. pick the most convenient or cheapest option, better is subjective, both have their benefits.
