Is there anyway to see which of their aircraft (I.E registration) have Wifi onboard (before you board!)

Along with Steve's blog you will also need something like Flightradar24 to see the registration of the aircraft scheduled to operate that flight.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

On NZ2 at the moment - 2.5 hours away from LAX. WiFi has been working thruout the entire trip.

This time it was $25 (No GST) for the 12 hour flight and I have been getting 20M down and 5M up the entire trip.

Clear instructions on the IFS with a public WiFi SSID to connect to a few mins after take off.

I was all excited to try this when we flew to San Fran on June 22, however they told us on take-off that there was a problem with the satellites and it was down worldwide. Hopefully doesn’t happen again on the way home!

I was on some Delta flights a couple of weeks ago between LA and Atlanta (737-900 and A321) and they had an interesting wifi setup. Basic test messaging was free (skype, whatsapp, imessage only) and full internet was 15USD. For me the free whatsapp messaging (text only) was fantastic to give me uninterrupted catch up time with the family without the temptation to do work or other things. It was odd to find something free on a US airline as those guys make most of their profit through add-ons but very welcome. Oh, and being Delta of course my baggage was a day behind me on the flights **sigh**.

We're giving the gift of free Wi-Fi this Christmas.

When you fly with Air New Zealand, you're never too old to be on the nice list. Which is why you'll enjoy free inflight Wi-Fi on all our Wi-Fi enabled aircraft until 28 Feb 2019.

Plane by plane, we're installing Wi-Fi across our international fleet right now. Our newly refurbished 777-300s were the first in line, the 777-200s were next, with the remainder of our international fleet joining in throughout 2018 and 2019.

You might be happy to hear all of our new A321neo and A320neo aircraft will come to us fully Wi-Fi enabled as well.

It's big news for us and our customers. Inflight Wi-Fi together with our award-winning seatback entertainment system will soon be entertaining you in new and exciting ways that are uniquely Air New Zealand.

And some commentary from the esteemed @sbiddle in the NZ Herald

The Herald article was written based off this post I wrote yesterday for Traveltalk https://traveltalk.nz/news-opinion/airline/air-new-zealand-delivers-free-inflight-wifi-for-christmas/

I also wrote a post for those interested which I keep updated with which aircraft have WiFi fitted https://traveltalk.nz/news-opinion/how-to-tell-if-your-air-new-zealand-flight-will-have-inflight-wifi/
