Now that you are able to use Airpoints Dollars to purchase goods at Mitre10, I wonder if there are any plans by Air NZ to allow you to use Airpoints to buy accommodation?

Can currently get flights, travel insurance and rental cars with Airpoints, but not accommodation.

For me this would be a welcome addition.

You used to be able to but this stopped about a year ago when they moved to Expedia as their hotel booking partner.
