@Behodar OK, I give up. What is that movie?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I imagine I'll be too long for it, just like I'm too tall and wide for most of the standard seating arrangements.  Long hauls are never going to get better for the likes of me until I can afford a Gulfstream.

when they knock you out, they can fold you up and you won’t notice.

Too much room, too much cost. But yeah, a chloroform option with the airfare would suffice

Fascinating thought experiment this is. Had a quick look at some numbers.

Single bed (wikipedia): 36x74 inches
Current seat space (seatguru): Economy: Pitch 31-33, Width 17.8

So a single bed is 2 seats wide and 2.5 long.
There are three bunks for that, but I assume you wouldn't actually get a full 36 inches.

There is wasted space from the aisles - you might have three or four - but it would speed boarding.

You could also orient it perpendicular to the front of the plane (looks like bunks in the prow of a ship).

Maybe you could combine these with those skyrider seats:

https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/standing-up-airplane-seat-testing/index.html

Maybe you could fold down the bunks for take off and landing and the skyrider seats are folded out of the bottom bunk?

I do not fold. If they did that I would end up like the blow up doll from Airplane.

I assume you wouldn't be booking a bed for the entire 18 hour trip? So part of the flight in your chair and part in the nest? So more than 6 passengers can use the Skynest, maybe 3 per bed rotated throughout the flight? Still only 18 people get a flat snooze, and that's on the long flight.

I wonder if I'm travelling with the fam, we can book one nest and rotate them through.

Children won't be allowed in these apparently.

i think it's one person per bed from the way it's built

In my experience, so are the bathrooms...

Kids don't need 'em anyway. As I learned on our last long haul economy flight, airline seats are designed to seat a 10 year old in total comfort. Once you're taller than that, you're out of luck.
