The Guardian - Trump's narcissism has taken a new twist. And now he has American blood on his hands.

27 March 2020

Pity the people of America.

They do battle now with one of the greatest challenges in their history, led by a man who is not only among the worst ever occupants of the White House but whose character makes him the last person on the face of the Earth you would nominate to be in charge at this moment.

On Thursday the US reached the top of the global league table for coronavirus infections, edging ahead of its closest rival for that honour, China.

No law of nature dictated that outcome. Much of it is directly attributable to one dreadful fact: that Donald Trump is president of the United States.

It’s become a commonplace to note Trump’s lack of basic human empathy, his tendency to be unmoved by others’ loss. ...

If coronavirus is a stick-up artist asking America, “Your money or your life”, Trump’s response has been: “Take the lives of the old and the weak: I want the money.”  ...

An imbecile at the head of the US government would always be a problem.

But an imbecile so narcissistic that he elevates his own stunted knowledge above the judgment of medicine and science is a calamity. ...

Copied this from a FB post. Gave me a great laugh.

A plane with 5 passengers on board -- Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Jacinda Adern, the Pope and a 10-year-old schoolgirl -- is about to crash and there are only 4 parachutes. Trump says "I need one. I’m the smartest man in the USA and I'm needed to solve the pandemic!" He takes one parachute and jumps. Johnson says ‘I’m needed to sort out the COVID-19 mess in Britain’. He takes one and jumps. The Pope says, "The world's Catholics depend on me for comfort in a time of fear." He takes one and jumps. "You can have the last parachute," Jacinda says to the 10-year-old. "I've lived a good part of my life. Yours is only just starting." The little girl replies: "Don’t worry, there are 2 parachutes left, the smartest man in the USA just took my school bag."

In its worst crisis since 1945, the United States is not governed by the clown from Washington, but by responsible governors, mayors and scientists.

Even through Trump clearly has bungled the Coronavirus response, and is responsible for many unnecessary US deaths, his US approval ratings have gotten a bump.

Here's my deep state theory: The government is using bigfoots to put something in the water that makes Americans stupid.

One thing is for sure. All those that die due to his actions/in-actions won't be in a position to add to the disapproval side of the graph. That'll help his approval rating no end.

Incredible as it may seem there may be someone worse than Trump as a President.

Bolsonaro of Brazil has described the virus as a small sniffle and has been holding outdoor rallies where he shakes hands and hugs people. He has also blamed the media for scare tactics and berated the Governor of Sao Paulo for instituting a lockdown.

Bolsonaro is a Trumper-level of stupid. I lost contact with someone in my family living back in Brazil since I told this person Bolsonaro is a populist idiot.

Watching the WH Coronavirus Update live on CBS News. What an asshole. Talking about TV ratings on his updates, how the media is failing but no actual updates.

I'm beginning to understand why narcissistic sociopaths like Trump are pushing for a back-to-work policy with a 'suck-it-up' codicil for possible death by COVID-19.

I did some maths based on the Worldometer figures. The current world population is around 7.774 billion and increases by 5 every 2 seconds. That's a net gain of 81 million each year.

So if everyone caught COVID-19 and 3.5% died from the disease, deaths would total around 272 million.

Given the economic chaos that'll ensue from a worldwide lockdown lasting 12-18 months, or until a vaccine is developed, together with the possibility that after a lockdown the disease might return anyway, it's easier to see why apathetic world leaders are conflicted.

Twitter has removed misleading health posts by Bolsonaro now.

They should do the same for Trump.

Would they have enough staff to keep up with him?
