I've placed a hold request for that John Bolton book from the library, I'd love to read it when it's released.

Also...you gotta know you must absolutely suck when your own party turns on you:

Thanks, that just wasted 2 minutes 20 seconds of my life that I will never get back. And did she sing 'the mountains white with foam?' If she's going to grandstand, she ought to at least get the words right.

A Trump cultist rambles on about something in a very loud voice and garbles the words to an American folk song.

She sounds like Aunt Lydia - but crazier.
And to think that the whole point of the "I won't wear a mask" movement is that the POTUS won't wear a mask because his orange spray-tan will rub off.  What a time to be alive.

The New York Times - Facebook Removes Trump Ads Displaying Symbol Used by Nazis

today

WASHINGTON - Facebook on Thursday removed advertisements posted on its platform by the Trump campaign that prominently featured a symbol used by Nazis to classify political prisoners during World War II, saying the imagery violated company policy.

The Trump campaign had used the ads, with a picture of a large red triangle, to inveigh against antifa, a loose collective of anti-fascist protesters that President Trump has blamed for violence and vandalism during the nationwide protests against racial injustice.

There is scant evidence that antifa has been involved in any coordinated campaigns during the demonstrations.

“Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups are running through our streets and causing absolute mayhem,” the campaign’s Facebook ads said.

Beneath the text was the red triangle, a symbol that Nazis used to identify Communists and other political prisoners in concentration camps ...

I doubt Trump, the guy who thinks Finland is part of Russia, or his campaign managers are smart enough to know about the symbolism behind the red triangle. OTOH someone involved with him obviously does...

BBC News - John Bolton: Ten biggest claims in his Donald Trump book

18 June 2020

[John Bolton's book] - The Room Where It Happened - portrays a president ignorant of basic geopolitical facts and whose decisions were frequently driven by a desire for re-election. ...

(headings only)

1. Trump wanted help from China to win re-election...

2. ... and said building internment camps was the 'right thing to do'

3. Trump offered 'personal favours to dictators'

4. The Democrats should have gone further with impeachment efforts

5. Trump suggested he wanted to serve more than two terms

6. Trump didn't know the UK was a nuclear power...

7. ... or if Finland was part of Russia

8. He was very close to actually quitting NATO

9. Invading Venezuela would be 'cool'

10. Even allies ridiculed him

I really can't believe how thick some of his supporters are. Of course, if they caught coronavirus at one of his rallies they would be the first ones to jump and down and demand assistance.
