Varkk:

It seems there are a few cuts floating around of that walk of shame set to different pieces of music. First one I saw used the Johnny Cash cover of Hurt.

Ha, my favourite Johnny Cash song! First one I saw was 'Hail to the Chief' in a minor key instead of the usual major key.

"Donald Trump has been the worst president this country has ever had. And I don't say that hyperbolically. He is. But he is a consequential president. And he has brought this country in three short years to a place of weakness that is simply unimaginable if you were pondering where we are today from the day where Barack Obama left office. And there were a lot of us on that day who were deeply skeptical and very worried about what a Trump presidency would be. But this is a moment of unparalleled national humiliation, of weakness.

"When you listen to the President, these are the musings of an imbecile. An idiot. And I don't use those words to name call. I use them because they are the precise words of the English language to describe his behavior. His comportment. His actions. We've never seen a level of incompetence, a level of ineptitude so staggering on a daily basis by anybody in the history of the country whose ever been charged with substantial responsibilities.

"It's just astonishing that this man is president of the United States. The man, the con man, from New York City. Many bankruptcies, failed businesses, a reality show, that branded him as something that he never was. A successful businessman. Well, he's the President of the United States now, and the man who said he would make the country great again. And he's brought death, suffering, and economic collapse on truly an epic scale. And let's be clear. This isn't happening in every country around the world. This place. Our place. Our home. Our country. The United States. We are the epicenter. We are the place where you're the most likely to die from this disease. We're the ones with the most shattered economy. And we are because of the fool that sits in the Oval Office behind the Resolute Desk."

TRUMP IMPRESSES TULSA SUPPORTERS WITH ONE-HANDED DRINKING TECHNIQUE

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Borowitz Report)—Donald J. Trump on Monday called his successful drinking of a glass of water at his Tulsa rally his proudest achievement as President.

“Using only my right hand, I brought that glass of water up to my mouth and drank it without spilling a drop,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “You can look at the tape. Flawless action.”

Trump added that, while drinking a glass of water with one hand was an impressive achievement in itself, executing it so well in front of a huge crowd made it even more extraordinary.

“There was a lot of pressure on me to drink that water right,” he said. “There must have been forty thousand people there.”

Trump lashed out at the media, saying, “I guarantee all the fake news crowd will want to want to talk about this week is the coronavirus and unemployment and protests,” he said. “These people will act as though me drinking that glass of water never happened.”

He added that he might be “better at drinking a glass of water than any other President in history.”

'Ask not what you can do for your country: ask what you can do for me'. Donald J.Trump. US President 2016 - 2020.

Rikkitic:

The thing about Trump (one of many) is that he is mean and vindictive and he likes to kick others when they are down. Maybe now he knows how it feels to be on the receiving end.

Narcissists don't react like that, the clinical term for what he'll be feeling right now is narcissistic injury. The response is narcissistic rage. Wouldn't want to be one of his keepers in the next week or so.

Mind you it'll make for interesting reading in the next book.

I just tried to post a link but something went horribly wrong. Here is another attempt:

Faculty members from AG Barr's law school alma mater say he has 'failed to fulfill his oath of office'
Law professors and faculty from George Washington University Law School, Attorney General William Barr's alma mater, said in a letter Tuesday he has "failed to fulfill his oath of office to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States.'"

I love this part:

"Barr's actions, the statement continued, "have posed, and continue to create, a clear and present danger to the even-handed administration of justice, to civil liberties, and to the constitutional order."

After Trump and his cronies, like Barr and Pompeo, are booted out of office, (please to all deities in November) to what extend can they ALL be investigated for wrong doings and misuse of office whilst they were in office ?

I guess that depends on whether the next president pardons them to let the nation heal or some such.

My own guess, and it's nothing more than that, is that the Trump asteroid will have left such a mess behind, that there is just too much to clean up and only the very worst cases will be pursued. Otherwise the entire government will be tied up in judicial knots for generations and there will be nothing left over for governing.

In practice it's unlikely. It's never happened before.

Yes - well - Trump and an administration like this has never happened before.

He has brought and bought shame & mockery upon his Oath of Office, the Oval Office, the Resolute Desk, the White House, the Constitution and the United States of America ❗️❗️

There should be some sort of Justice, at least sort after, for his and their actions whilst in elected office.

That's because of an implicit agreement where both sides tacitly agree not to look too closely at the other side's dirty laundry because it'll be their turn next. The book Codes of the Underworld goes into this sort of thing in considerable detail, "codes" meaning not so much secret messages as rules of behaviour.

Which candidate said her first action as president would be to clean the White House with bleach? That doesn't seem like a joke any longer.

The New York Times - The Pandemic Is Still Raging. The President Pretends Otherwise.

By The Editorial Board

June 23, 2020

More than 100 days into the coronavirus pandemic, here’s where things stand in the United States: 2.3 million people have been infected, and some 120,000 people - more than in any other country - have died. Early epicenters like New York and New Jersey appear to have gotten their outbreaks under control, but several new hot spots have emerged, including in Florida, Texas and Arizona, where daily case counts are higher than ever.

Over all, the number of new cases a day is rising, and the rest of the world is taking note: The European Union is mulling travel restrictions that would prohibit Americans from entering any nation in the bloc because the United States has failed to contain the pandemic.

None of these developments have put an end to the denialism that has prevailed at the White House from the start. ...

It’s hard to see the benefit of such magical thinking, especially now, when the truth is so plain that even some of Mr. Trump’s reluctant fellow Republicans are starting to acknowledge reality. ...

On Tuesday, Dr. Robert Redfield, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, called the pandemic “the greatest public health crisis our nation and world have confronted in a century.

It’s past time for the rest of the administration to start taking it that seriously.
