OMG - This is darn right serious and has & is putting the USA in a "Clear and Present Danger" and also the rest of the free democratic world.

From pandering to Putin to abusing allies and ignoring his own advisers, Trump's phone calls alarm US officials

Stay in the basement Joe and start studying how to resuscitate America's foreign relationships.

I hope Joe stays in the basement and doesn't die of something before the election!

Not unheard of... Brazilian President-elect Tancredo Neves, first civilian President elected after 21 years of military ruling died on the eve of his inauguration, from surgery complications. His Vice-President was sworn in his place.

Propublica: The Trump Administration Paid Millions for Test Tubes — and Got Unusable Mini Soda Bottles

Since May, the Trump administration has paid a fledgling Texas company $7.3 million for test tubes needed in tracking the spread of the coronavirus nationwide. But, instead of the standard vials, Fillakit LLC has supplied plastic tubes made for bottling soda, which state health officials say are unusable.

...The company’s process likely contaminated the tubes and could yield false test results. Fillakit employees, some not wearing masks, gathered the miniature soda bottles with snow shovels and dumped them into plastic bins before squirting saline into them, all in the open air, according to former employees and ProPublica’s observation of the company’s operations.

“It wasn’t even clean, let alone sterile,” said Teresa Green, a retired science teacher who worked at Fillakit’s makeshift warehouse outside of Houston for two weeks before leaving out of frustration
...
The Fillakit deal shows the perils of the Trump administration’s frantic hiring of first-time federal contractors with little scrutiny during the pandemic. The federal government has awarded more than $2 billion to first-time contractors for work related to the coronavirus, a ProPublica analysis of purchasing data shows. Many of those companies, like Fillakit, had no experience with medical supplies.

The U.S. has lagged behind many European countries in its rate of testing people for the coronavirus, partly because of supply shortages or inadequacies. Epidemiologists say testing is vital to tracking the virus and slowing transmission. In at least one state, the shipment of unusable Fillakit tubes contributed to delays in rolling out widespread testing.

“They’re the most unusable tubes I’ve ever seen,” said a top public health scientist in that state, who asked to remain anonymous to protect his job...

The worst thing about that CNN enquiry reported above is that we aren't surprised and have been appalled for ages yet the animal is STILL there. Where the hell are the politicians? Where the hell are the judiciary? Where the hell are his Republican party?

Just proves the political system in the US is irretrievably broken. Even if Joe makes it over the line, the corrupt and broken system is still there.

The rest of the world can do nothing even though we are all involved.

Just wish there was a Divine Being that could step in.

The Washington Post - Trump’s ignorance is total - and you can quote his press secretary on that

today

If things weren’t already bad enough for President Trump - economic collapse, botched pandemic response, mass unrest - U.S. intelligence believes Trump’s “friend” Vladimir Putin paid Taliban fighters bounties to kill U.S. troops.

But the White House is ready with a defense: The president has no earthly idea what’s going on.

Totally in the dark.

Not a clue!

“The CIA director, NSA, national security adviser, and the chief of staff can all confirm that neither the president nor the vice president were briefed on the alleged Russian bounty intelligence,” White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany declared at Monday afternoon’s briefing.

So, asked NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump was kept “out of the loop by his own intelligence community?”

“It would not be elevated to the president until it was verified,” the press secretary explained.

Shouldn’t the president have been told about such a serious matter?

“There are dissenting opinions,” McEnany ventured.

Reporters pointed out that intelligence, by definition, is generally unverified, and that the bounty intelligence was solid enough that U.S. officials shared it with the British.

McEnany indicated Trump’s advisers didn’t find it “necessary” to brief him.

But “given these reports,” asked Jeff Mason of Reuters, “does the president have a specific message for Moscow?”

“No,” McEnany said, “because he has not been briefed.” ...

... How dare the Times report that Trump was informed!

Get it right: This president’s ignorance is total - and you can quote the White House press secretary on that.

Unless the targets of his abuse speak up (which is extremely unlikely) - as it's all hearsay and everybody knew he was a misogynistic loudmouthed fat-fingered amoral scumbag before - and despite of which - he was elected POTUS. 40% of Americans still think he's doing a good job.

The "Russia paying Taliban to kill US soldiers - while Trump praises Putin" should bring Trump down - or be one of the last straws that breaks his back, along with probably 200,000 Americans dead from C-19 due in part to Trump's incompetence and lies. "Trump's plague".

NYT is sitting on leaked information from a high-level source, and they're drip-feeding it out to trap the WH in their own web of lies.

BBC News - Coronavirus: Joe Biden will not hold campaign rallies

today

US Democrat Joe Biden has said he will not hold presidential campaign rallies during the coronavirus pandemic.

"This is the most unusual campaign, I think, in modern history," Mr Biden said at a press conference in Delaware.

His rival, President Donald Trump, saw lower-than-expected turnout for a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in June and his campaign has announced no new rallies.

Opinion polls show Mr Biden with an almost double-digit lead over Mr Trump as the 3 November election looms.

On Tuesday, Mr Biden told reporters: "I'm going to follow the doc's orders - not just for me but for the country - and that means that I am not going to be holding rallies."

The former US vice-president under Barack Obama also said he has not yet been tested for Covid-19, which has killed almost 130,000 people in the US. ...

A wise old man. 🙃

New York Times: Biden Says Trump ‘Surrendered’ to Coronavirus in Blistering Speech

President Trump’s Democratic opponent criticized him for failing to protect the American people from the virus, as it continues to surge in many parts of the country.

Joseph R. Biden Jr. leveled a broad attack against President Trump on Tuesday over his response to the coronavirus, his refusal to wear a mask, his handling of intelligence on Russia targeting American troops and even his “cognitive capability” during a rare news conference in which Mr. Biden repeatedly drew distinctions with his November opponent.

Mr. Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, laid out an updated plan to address the pandemic as cases rise in many states. He accused Mr. Trump of having “surrendered” to the virus. And he underscored the importance of wearing a mask in public, something the president has refused to do, saying, “You have a moral obligation.”

From a lectern in a high school gym in Wilmington, flanked by two teleprompters and in front of an American flag, Mr. Biden denounced Mr. Trump in a 20-minute speech that focused on the coronavirus. Then he took questions from reporters for about half an hour. The blistering critique he made of Mr. Trump spanned the breadth of the presidency, touching on matters foreign and domestic, as well as the example and the tone Mr. Trump had set.

“The president talks about, you know, manhood and, you know, and being strong, and you don’t need the mask,” he said. “I think we have to start appealing to the better side of human nature by pointing out that that mask is not so much to protect me.”

“It’s to protect other people,” he added. “And it’s called patriotism. It’s called responsibility.” The president, Mr. Biden said, “puts everything in terms of him.”

Washington Post: Russian bounties endangered British soldiers, too. Why didn’t the U.S. tell us?

Allies worry once again that the U.S. is an unreliable partner — the biggest victory of the Russian campaign.

The news that top U.S. officials — possibly even the president — knew that Russia offered rewards for the killing of coalition forces in Afghanistan, yet apparently took no action, is rightly a scandal in the United States.

President Trump has denied knowledge of the bounties, although the National Security Council discussed it in late March, and the New York Times reports that he received a written briefing. The latest reports suggest the information was circulating at the highest levels for more than a year.
...
Thirty-one nations have lost soldiers in Afghanistan. Any coalition partner that learned of Russian plots to pay for the killing of its men and women from the media — while the United States knew — will surely take this into account when considering the extent to which it can rely on the United States in the future.
...
The Western coalition in Afghanistan numbers some three dozen countries. All were apparently targets of the Russian bounty system. Members of the “Five Eyes” intelligence-sharing partnership — the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand — have especially close intelligence sharing ties.

...If the British, with what they like to think of as a “special relationship” with the United States, were only informed in the last week, it seems likely ... that more distant partners would have been treated with even greater disregard.

And knowledge like this is vital to some of those smaller countries, because of the likelihood that they too will be targeted in Russia’s proxy wars. Offering bounties in Afghanistan may be an experiment by Russia that it may seek to replicate — or may already have done — in Syria, or any other theater where it can sponsor assaults on Western troops and interests.
