Trump is dumb as a door:

A lawsuit against Donald Trump can move forward after the president declared that he still lives in New York on a call with the nation’s governors.

Writer E Jean Carroll is suing Mr Trump for defamation after he denied her allegations that he raped her in a New York department store in the mid-1990s and called her a liar.

The president’s lawyers claimed that the case could not be pursued in Manhattan Supreme Court as he does not live there, having been resident in Washington, DC, since January 2017, and having legally changed his residency to Florida in 2019.

However, on his recent call with state governors in which he urged them to “dominate” protesters in the streets of cities as unrest grew following the death of George Floyd, he said that he was particularly appalled at what he had seen taking pace in his hometown of New York.

“I live in Manhattan,” he said.

On 15 June, Ms Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, argued in a letter to the court that Mr Trump’s statement invalidated his lawyer’s claims.

The motion put forward by Mr Trump’s lawyer, Patrick McPartland, has now been withdrawn.

Ms Carroll thanked her supporters on Twitter: “Because you retweeted his call to the Governors when he bragged ‘I live in Manhattan,' his lawyers dropped the claim I can’t sue him cuz he’s not a resident of New York!”.

Also, from Trump's biggest cheerleader in the cartoon world (and unfortunately, someone I used to look up to and admire):

Content:

  • If Biden is elected, Trump supporters will be hunted/victimized - doesn't he encourage people on his side to do exactly this?
  • What to expect from BLM and Antifa if Biden is elected - is Antifa a real thing? Someone help me out here
  • Joe Biden uses management jargon to not say anything - so what does Trump say then?

That's quite clever actually. Is the Russian spoken in it real? (note: I don't speak any Russian so have no idea).

Minimal Russian but the bits I picked up are real. Very clever, although the choice of Communist imagery is a bit anachronistic.

The imagery is very similar to / based on the style of the opening credits of "The Americans" (set in the Reagan era).

Apart from it being a very good bit of work, it's remarkable because The Lincoln Project is getting their ads screened on TV shows known to be viewed by Trump, the PAC (political action committee) is founded by Republicans, and one of those Republicans is George Conway - husband of Kellyanne Conway.

In a couple of days, even the ad loaded on Youtube (above) has has almost a million views - and as pointed out in the Wiki article , when Trump had twitter temper tantrum about their ads they got $1.4 million donations.  The Streisand Effect is happening.

They're also churning out these ads fast - a new one today:

Wow, those ads are so darned good. Had a look at a couple of others. The one contrasting trump and Biden's response to the 100K death number was very powerful.

They are hard core "attack" ads - the kind of thing conservatives use - and have been using for decades.

Here from NZ in the 70s:

It won him the election, and next minute he's spending billions of dollars on the socialist "think big" projects, forcing people to not be able to drive their cars one day a week, and more-or-less banning people from using their cars to travel over the weekend, while still racking up debt that almost bankrupted the country.

I've always found that hugely ironic, NZ was essentially an eastern European controlled-economy socialist state up until the fourth Labour Government shook things up, but that ad was scaremongering about socialist states.

The Washington Post - Trump surveyed the smoking ruin of his reelection and decided: Be more Trumpy

today

President Trump has surveyed the smoking ruins of his reelection campaign - dogged by disastrous polls, beset by internal conflict, regarded with growing horror by Republican elites - and proposed a reason for this failure.

Trump believes that he has not been Trumpy enough.

According to a report by Jonathan Swan for Axios, the president has been telling friends that he regrets following moderate advice from his son-in-law Jared Kushner and needs to “stick closer to his own instincts.”

One of Swan’s sources summarized Trump’s determination this way: “No more of Jared’s woke s***.” ...

To beat Trump, Joe Biden will need to demonstrate that the president is pathetically weak even by his own standards.

His handling of the covid-19 pandemic has been lethally incompetent as well as economically ruinous.

His increasingly overt racism is threatening the unity and justice of the country.

His incoherent combination of naivete and bullying has squandered America’s global influence and standing. ...

In hindsight, maybe moron is a bit too harsh to describe Scott Adams and his love of Trump. Is turncoat a better word?
