SaltyNZ:

Looks that way, although some of them are currently very close - less than half a percent in it. Looks like he'll get Florida though. He's about 1.5% ahead with less than 1% left to count.

5% left to count in Florida according to CNN and Fox, but I'd say Florida is done and dusted in his favour.

Is it wrong that I kind of want Trump to win just because I have been insisting to everyone that he will win? I know it would be terrible for entire world, but my pride is at stake!

benokobi: NY Times have gone from a 90% chance of Clinton victory yesterday. Now Trump win sits at 77%.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

Not unexpected though. I feel the media has downplayed his chances significantly.

.8% left to go and he is leading by 1.5%. I think its safe to say he won it.

Where are you getting that from? Where I'm looking still says 5% to go.

They very clearly state that those dials will not be accurate until the votes are actually more complete. I don't think they even consider states that have not yet closed - which is kind of a big deal when California is still not closed.

I was wrong with my guess for a 5 point Clinton victory - that's clearly not going to happen.

I'm not sure if in my lifetime I've witnessed a scarier turn of events in global politics than what's unfolding today.  Mostly, I've witnessed change which has resulted in increased freedom, tolerance, interspersed with periods where that paused, but 1/2 century where generally, life improved in relative peace.  Trump's implicit approval for a new era of bigotry and intolerance doesn't bode well.

Market futures are continuing to tank.  There's nothing to celebrate folks.  It's a dark day of historic proportions.

Also the simpsons predicted that Trump would become president years ago.

Trump has 87% according to NY times, and it is now 'likely'. So it looks like it is heading that way.

Is anyone making an outright prediction at this stage?

I don't think the "I told you so" that I'll get to dish out to people is worth it.

I'm sticking to the prediction that I've been making ever since it became clear that Bernie Sanders would lose the Democratic nomination. Trump will be the next president.

Everyone told me "no way", to which I replied that I hoped I was wrong.
