I hate seeing this twit salute, if he wanted to do that he could have joined the military when he was asked. Then he would know civilians don't do it.

kingdragonfly: Many, many years ago I was socialist in Alabama. I learned all freedom of speech is equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

A word of advice; if you're in the deep south, the police have a bad reputation, but God help you if you're pulled over by a Sherriff. Nationwide they are generally elected county officials. Nowadays if you know you're about to talk to a Sherriff, sending a text message with your location is a really good idea.

Christ, I hope that moron never gets his face added to Mt Rushmore. I understand that's for presidents who actually achieved something, not narcissistic ones full of their own self-congratulation.

I agree with you in relation to this idiot who dodged the draft but I always thought it was just an acknowledgement courtesy.

Here is a couple of interesting articles concerning the whole issue: Fact Check: Should presidents return salutes from the military? and A Final Verdict on the Presidential Salute.

DJT has not earnt the RIGHT to salute! In fact he should be charged with genocide as he has never "....best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend..." and there is his disparaging remarks concerning past and present military personal.

Actually, it'd be an easy enough project. Just a steel framework with an reinforced concrete shell overlay. Two months, tops.

The Washington Post - Federal judge temporarily blocks USPS operational changes amid concerns about mail slowdowns, election

today

A federal judge in Washington state on Thursday granted a request from 14 states to temporarily block operational changes within the U.S. Postal Service that have been blamed for a slowdown in mail delivery, saying President Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are “involved in a politically motivated attack” on the agency that could disrupt the 2020 election.

Stanley A. Bastian, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, said policies put in place under DeJoy “likely will slow down delivery of ballots” this fall, creating a “substantial possibility that many voters will be disenfranchised and the states may not be able to effectively, timely, accurately determine election outcomes.”

The states have demonstrated that the defendants are involved in a politically motivated attack on the efficiency of the Postal Service,” Bastian said in brief remarks after a two-and-a-half hour hearing in Yakima, Wash. “They have also demonstrated that this attack on the Postal Service is likely to irreparably harm the states’ ability to administer the 2020 general election.” ...

Trump said he would create a national commission [The 1776 Commission] to promote a “pro-American curriculum that celebrates the truth about our nation’s great history,”

They could call it the "Action against un-American Thinking", or to give it its original name, "Aktion wider den undeutschen Geist". There's already a printed playbook for it, you just need to get the original 1933 German text translated.

It's actually quite cringeworthy watching them, they think it's coming from their boy so they have to support it no matter how ludicrous it is. Similar stunts have been done in the past for other groups with strongly-held beliefs.
