The Guardian - Cindy McCain rebukes Trump and publicly endorses Joe Biden for president

Cindy McCain has endorsed Joe Biden for president, a stunning rebuke of Donald Trump by the widow of the Republican party’s 2008 nominee. ...

Trump has had a fraught relationship with members of John McCain’s family since he disparaged the Arizona senator during his 2016 campaign. ...

During his campaign, Trump infamously said of McCain: “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured ... He lost and let us down. I’ve never liked him as much after that. I don’t like losers.”...

Biden and McCain were good mates in real life too, just one example of how politicians can reach across political lines to work together and make a difference (unlike Mr "Divisive" Trump).

As a "moderate" Biden is basically a Republican. And his 47 year voting record proves that.
Biden is absolutely naive if he thinks he can use his political skills to reach across the aisle
And voters are naive of they believe him
Those days are long gone. GOP are publicly saying they're voting for a SCOTUS candidate without even knowing who it is lol
Surely he saw that up close as 8 years of VP, with 6 years of "obstructionists"

The debates are next week, but I don't think that it will do much for undecided voters, as there don't seem to be as many of them in 2016.

I don't think it'll do much for any voters, the electorate is so polarised they may as well not run any debates except perhaps as entertainment for each camp to laugh at the other side's candidate. As others have pointed out, it's not really a vote of Republicans vs. Democrats but Trumpists vs. everyone else. His strategy is really effective and has been done before, Ernst Hanfstaengel, the (probable) inventor of "Sieg Heil", talked about Hitler's ability to get an audience to "abandon reason and just emote" to get a "rhapsody of hysteria", which Trump isn't nearly capable of doing but he gives it his best shot. Someone in that state isn't going to be persuaded by political debates.

I think the hope (if not expectation) is that one of them will suffer a stroke on live TV, making all other considerations redundant.

I hope America breaks up. The sooner the better. The south and midwest can become the banana republics they so long to be. The west and east coasts can be liberal democracies without the baggage. The north can join Canada. They can all form a military alliance for defense but otherwise go their own ways.

There have been maps circulating for a long time, well before Trump, that depict the US as three separate entities: the People's Republic of California, the United States of Canada, and Jesusland.

"Donald Trump gives himself an 'A+' for his handling of the coronavirus. Uh, what?"

The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (ie, the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (ie, the standards of thought) no longer exist.

I have also run into the captcha though not the above problem.

I've had it too just now. Doesn't look like a Google captcha, but it requires Google to be enabled for JS in order to work.

O Tempora!, quoting Trump on his own performance:

The only thing we’ve done a bad job in is public relations because we haven’t been able to convince people — which is basically the fake news — what a great job we’ve done

Since I'm quoting Arendt:

Before mass leaders seize the power to fit reality to their lies, their propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts as such, for in their opinion fact depends entirely on the power of man who can fabricate it.

Serious question - if that does happen, does that mean Kamala would step in as the Presidential candidate? If so, who would become Vice President? Nancy Pelosi?

Your question is void, since it's predicated on the US electing a black woman as president.

The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix: Trump is trying to get rid of Obamacare as the pandemic resurges

Nancy Pelosi could save Obamacare with a one-line Amendment - by repealing the individual mandate, which is now functionally inert, the House Speaker can invalidate a push to eliminate the Affordable Care Act.

But the Dems and Pelosi won't do it.  They just have a wall of excuses, that don't pass the litmus test.  They prefer to use this ACA campaign issue to run on, rather than simply fixing the problem.

This is all a mass delusion, both the Dems and the Republicans, don't care about us, they don't care about actually fixing this issue, they think we're idiots and playing us like fools

Below the surface of the fiercest political battles is actually elite bi-partisanship.  The Dems don't care about the substance of fixing the ACA whatsoever - they think this is a good electoral issue for them.  Both sides are pathetic.

Barbara Lagoa is the logical nomination. More experience and from Florida which is important at election time. I'd be surprised if Trump nominates Barret. On the other hand Trump is rarely logical.

It is funny that where a scotus jurist is from, even comes into the discussion - shows how bankrupt and partisan the whole sideshow is

Abortion is the #1 conservative issue, Trump already met with ACB last week, the other potentials jurists are just on the list for show.  The Fedsoc has been vetting ACB her already, to make sure she passes the abortion litmus test, not like how they got burnt with Gorsuch unexpectedly supporting LGBT rights.

Sunday 9 AM NZ time Trump is nominating the good ol' Catholic pro-life Judge ACB to go into war to overturn Roe v Wade and remove a pregnant women's liberty

Sunday 9 AM NZ time Trump is nominating the good ol' Catholic pro-life Judge ACB to go into war to overturn Roe v Wade and remove a pregnant women's liberty.  Oct 30 the Senate are rubber stamping the nomination with a "vote".  4 GOP Senators don't have the guts to stand up, but to be fair, if roles were reversed, Democrats would be doing exactly the same.
