So, the world will be a better place with Trump still in it?

nathan:
I don't respect him as a person, but he's still the President.
This has been an overwhelming feeling that I've had when in the US, that regardless of some of the pieces of sh*t you've had as presidents, there's still respect shown for the person - not because of what the person was as a human being, but because of the office.
I've posted this cartoon before, I'm gobsmacked by the deep reverence conservatives still hold for this conman:
I want to see it updated - "remembering Trump".
That Michael Moore piece was interesting. He raises a very good point: assuming Trump does have Covid, it would be completely out of character for him to admit it unless it was advantageous to him in some way. And if a Covid diagnosis was advantageous to him, it's just as likely that he made it up.
Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but Trump is an unrepentant liar who never admits any fault or weakness - so there there might be something to what Michael Moore is saying.

Compassion? Where the hell was Trump's compassion 4 years ago (in fact, to the day) when Hillary had to be removed from an event due to pneumonia?
From memory, he mocked her in front of all the supporters at one of his rallies.
Yeah, that bloke can take his compassion and shove it. Trump gets just as good back what he dishes out. The nutters over at Breitbart are still losing it that their beloved leader has coronavirus. Anyone who points out all the bad crap that Trump did is immediately shut down. It's like they live in a myopic world where the man can do no wrong, and Joe Biden is nothing more than Satan and will ruin America - like it's a great place right at this second or something. Newsflash: it's not.
nathan: Regardless of what you think of someone’s politics, it’s pretty horrible wishing ill will on a President. He’s still an elected American president.
Poetic justice is one thing.
I for one couldn't care less, given this [non-person's] profound venality, lack of ethics, and utter destruction of fundamental social/civil norms plus international law.
He couldn't leave this earth fast enough for my personal taste. And never forget how many deaths he's directly responsible for.
Edit: I should also add that fundamentally people who profess to wish him a speedy recovery, apart from people who genuinely believe this, are intellectually/morally dishonest to the extreme. This especially if it's done in an entirely platitudinous way. You don't have to expose yourself to him/be near him/or be in any kind of predicament where social expectations might mean that one pretends to wish him well. Given that it won't matter one lick in terms of the course of his illness regardless of whether anyone wishes him a speedy death as opposed to, say, a speedy recovery, the best course of action is to remain silent or just say what someone genuinely believes. His niece's reaction is 110% appropriate IMO.
Sideface:WaPo - Journalists, beware: This White House can’t be trusted to be truthful about Trump’s health
With President Trump apparently struck by covid-19 a month before a critical election and after 200,000 American deaths from the disease, what we really need right now is an entirely credible, fact-based voice from the White House.
Good luck with that. ...
The Whitehouse typically lies, they have a tradition of lying to the public about the Presidents health, and putting a spin on it
Cleveland had jaw cancer surgery. Wilson had a stoke hidden for months. Eisenhower lied about a heart attack
The tradition is to hide and obfuscate - The hidden history of presidential disease, sickness and secrecy

he did, and said she was being propped up with hidden back-supports under her clothes.
that was the toxic blood sport of 2 candidates in a job interview for the highest office
This is the guy that mocks a disabled reporter, mocks Biden for wearing a mask, mocks McCain for being a loser POW in the Hanoi Hilton
Theres still a difference between that guy and the President. I still want him to get better so Pence doesn't becomes our Christian Theocratic leader
I wonder why he's not calling on the services of that quack "doctor" he was endorsing a few months ago with her miracle "cure" for coronavirus. Remember - in her words - she had cured over 300 people of the disease.
So if she was as good as she says she is (and Trump obviously thought she was), why he is not on the phone to her immediately demanding a dose of her "cure"?

Also, I see that Biden has pulled all negative attack ads regarding Trump while he is sick. Former presidents have wished him a speedy recovery as well - but if the situation was reversed and, say, Biden was sick instead of Trump, would Trump do the same thing? Of course not.
kingdragonfly: Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer asked that the confirmation hearing be delayed.
Schumer loves the theater of if all, being able to blame an unelected scotus judge for him not doing any work
Dems lied to us, he's not doing everything possible to stop ACBs nomination, they just said that to collect record donations the last 2 weeks by focusing on abortion. The Dems are quite happy to have the American people and media, tied-up transfixed, on the overturn of Roe v. Wade in a decade, meanwhile something far more important is happening.
There isn't a single case where ACB has ruled in favor of a worker, for a consumer, in favor of a small business. She always rules on the side of the powerful. Just like the Dems and the Republicans want it.
