Trump to speak at 6.30 pm ET.

I missed it, did he have anything important to say?

That's the most extraordinary speech I've ever seen. Whole rant about the whole system being illegal and corrupt. Notice he's not asking for Arizona to stop counting yet.

"What we know about Donald Trump’s supporters in New Zealand"

Astounding:

Perhaps surprisingly, 15.6% of Pasifika respondents and 20% of those who ticked the “gender-diverse” box hoped Trump would win — above the overall 11% result."

Also Trumpers tend to be National or Act supporters.

Trump has once again complained about postal voting being "corrupt" and "unfair" ... but ...

The Washington Post - USPS processed 150,000 ballots after Election Day, jeopardizing thousands of votes

breaking

More than 150,000 ballots were caught in U.S. Postal Service processing facilities and not delivered by Election Day, agency data shows, including more than 12,000 in five of the states that have yet to be called for either President Trump or his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden.

Despite assurances from Postal Service leaders that agency officials were conducting daily sweeps for misplaced ballots, the mail service acknowledged in a court filing Thursday that thousands of ballots had not been processed in time, and that more ballots were processed Wednesday than on Election Day.

The number of mailed ballots the Postal Service did not deliver by Election Day is expected to grow as more data is released in the coming days. ...

Paul1977:  I missed it, did he have anything important to say?

As summarized by the Times:

The New York Times - Trump breaks silence in statement full of falsehoods.

today

President Trump broke a two-day silence with reporters to deliver a brief statement filled with egregious falsehoods and smears about the election process as workers in a handful of states continued to tabulate votes.

The president painted the election results so far as part of a broad conspiracy to deprive him of a second term by Democrats, election officials in various cities and the news media.

“If you count the legal votes, I easily win,” Mr. Trump began when he took the podium in the White House briefing room, a false statement that cast aspersion on the rest of the election.

He offered no evidence; instead, he listed a series of conspiracy theories about why ballots arrived late in some places. ...

Maybe time for the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment so Pence can concede.

"At the same time that he insisted that Democrats were figuring out how many mail-in ballots they needed to counteract his performance in various states, the president listed a series of successful Republican wins on Tuesday and appeared unaware of the cognitive dissonance in saying that other Republicans had won while he lost as he claimed a plot to harm him." Those that called AZ are proven wrong, its getting a Trump comeback. Its one thing to call it when you are sure Biden will win, but it needs to be called when maths says Trump cannot win. Fox supports Trump so their brains is a little lacking, or did they follow AP?

Hopefully the Trump comeback is just the counting of some favourable county votes and not the general norm

On the other election count.

Covidwhile USA Worldmeter, for the tally so far today, 113,537 Cases, 1,094 Deaths, 18,068 serious.
Presumably more to come a new record. Trump just keeps Winning.
Trumps rallies, and insistence that in person voting is the proper way for his followers to vote.
Will there be another kind of big red wave , of SARS-Cov-2, over next week.

A suburban St. Louis election official who worked at a polling place on Election Day despite a positive test for the coronavirus died, raising concerns for the nearly 2,000 people who voted there.

I have known a lot of nice Americans, and in past fought the ugly American arguments, but seeing so many threw their vote into the Trump bonfire.

Was it a Quixotic delusion, I'll still try to hope, 'Oh look Shiny Windmills !'

Associated Press News: Counties with worst virus surges overwhelmingly voted Trump

U.S. voters went to the polls starkly divided on how they see President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. But in places where the virus is most rampant now, Trump enjoyed enormous support.

An Associated Press analysis reveals that in 376 counties with the highest number of new cases per capita, the overwhelming majority — 93% of those counties — went for Trump, a rate above other less severely hit areas.

Most were rural counties in Montana, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin — the kinds of areas that often have lower rates of adherence to social distancing, mask-wearing and other public health measures, and have been a focal point for much of the latest surge in cases....

Here is Nevada:

That's a pretty representative map of Nevada all right: Sodom and gomorrah top left and bottom right, and the rest is Jesusland.

Literally. You're driving out in the middle of nowhere and there's a house with a giant neon JESUS sign in the dirt out the front that probably cost more than the double-wide house did. And you can buy ammunition in the supermarket, there's a separate aisle for it.

When you buy half a dozen watermelons, even without buying cases of ammunition at the same time, the checkout lady asks "going shooting?".
